  • I don't think that it is hard to go wrong with bouts as long as you keep them simple and avoid using "modern" looking florals (like orchids, for example). Most of the pictures I've seen of 1940s weddings have very simple bouts-- single flowers in either roses or carnations, usually in white. Try googling 1940s weddings or grooms and you will see what I'm saying.

  • I would consider adding small touches of feathers to your flowers for an instant vintage look.
Disclaimer: Please excuse the above comment. I'm probably freaking out because there is less than one month to go. Thank you.

  • Check out my bio, I have some bouts under Flowers that I think would qualify.
  • THanks Ladies. I'll keep up the research!

  • Also, sometimes in my head "traditional" is synonymous with "vintage".  Traditionally, men wore a sprig of whatever flower was in his lady's bouquet.  The groomsmen in my wedding are wearing flowers that are found in the bridesmaids and my bouquet, but my groom also has a small sprig of pink hydrangea added to his because no one but me has pink hydrangea in their bouquet.

I think that's a great idea.  Also, a lot of the time the men didn't wear a flower at all but instead just had a pocket hankerchief.

I think something made with buttons would be kind of cool and vintage flaired.
  • Try etsy.com. I ordered feather boutonnieres and they're absoluetly PERFECT. My FI loves them. =)
