Interesting venues?

Hi.  wondering if anyone has any ideas for an eclectic place to have my summer 2011 wedding and/or reception.  I am not interested in hotels and the normal venues.  One thing they MUST NOT HAVE is ceiling tiles!!!

Thanks all!

We just got married in the Wabasha Street Caves.  It's huge and a very cool venue!!

The first thing that came to mind was the Loring Pasta Bar.  Don't know how many people you're having though and the size of the restaurant could limit the number of guests you have.  The other one that is sorta traditional but not would be the Depot in St. Paul.

    Haha... I had a no-ceiling-tiles rule myself.

Now, do you just want non-cliched or truly unusual? My suggestions would vary greatly depending on your answer to that.

I'd suggest our venue -- it was Turtle's 1890 Social Centre in Shakopee (pics in bio).  It's very non-blah (exposed brick wall, pressed tin ceiling, giant mahongany bar) and very budget friendly!  Great staff, great food -- can hold up to 250 or 300 ppl I think.  GL!

My venue is FIVE Event Center in Uptown. It's an old police precint that was turned into a super modern event venue. Not sure how big your wedding is- it's a great size for weddings in the 200 range. They have lots of pics on their website as well as their facebook page.

We got married at Summit Manor.  There are some other really pretty manors in the area, too, if you like the old and historic look.

Check out the Minneapolis Bio, too.  Lots of great ideas there.

Mine's Mill City Museum  - no ceiling tiles. And one of the most beautiful courtyards in the city.

You could look at the Varsity Theater in Minneapolis or the Diamond Hall at the Profile Event Center.

Thank you all!  I actually had myself scheduled at the PEC, but we had to move our plans to next summer.  I have looked at The FIVE Event Center a while back, and the Varsity Theatre/Loring...maybe I just need to revisit them!  Those are the style I'm looking for if we stay in Mpls area.  Again thanks!

Mine was at the Varsity, and we loved it.  I have lots of pics in my bio!
