RSVP's

Has anyone else had any trouble with people sending back RSVP's with no name on them and no return address on the envelope. It's kind of driving me crazy wanting to know who it is!

Re: RSVP's

  • Yup, that happened to me, but luckily I had numbered them first on the back and had a spread sheet so I could match them up.  That was a trick I learned on here.
  • Ditto MrsG. It's too late for you but for anyone else reading this I numbered all of the RSVPs and entered the corresponding numbers into our guest list.

That would bother me too because I'd be so dang curious. I guess you'll have some phone calls to make once your deadline passes.
  • A friend told me about that!! I wish i had done that, but i did not hear about that trick until after i already sent everything out!

I've only had one...but luckily I numbered all of mine so I know who is who.

  • I did not think it would be an issue either!! You should definately do the numbering trick! I wish i had!
  • Since it's too late to do the numbering idea, or anything else... you have to deal with it.  This may be practical, depending on guest size and RSVP date.  Smaller list, easier it will be, more ppl that RSVP, easier too.

Just wait.  Once the RSVP's start coming in, keep track.  Hopefully close to your deadline date, you have a few ppl unacounted for.  Then depending on who the people are, look at the handwritting, ask your FI or mom if they would have any idea.  You can also check out the return post mark, and check what ZIP code it was mailed (stamped out) from.  The double check with the unaccounted for people.  You can follow up with an email or a phone call, whatever is normal for you, and say something along the lines of "I just wanted to double check if you are attending or not, we got a few RSVP cards without names".  Good luck!

  • I actually wrote the return address for the people on the RSVP envelope, so even if people didn't fill in the card, I could get the name from there. I'm not sure it's proper etiquette, but a lot of people actually thanked me for it since it saved them time :)

I saw something on pinterest where they wrote the person's name on the RSVP with magic marker?  Don't know how practical it is, just thought I'd throw in my $.02 :)
