Plus Size wedding dresses?

I posted this question a while back and still no luck. I am a plus size bride (street size 16) looking for the perfect dress. I cannot find anything I like that reflects me. All the dresses they do have in my size are a-line or empire... which both make me look bigger. I am looking for something fitted that goes our after my buttocks. Does anyone have any ideas on dress shops to look at? I tried DB and didn't like anything and I tried house of brides. I get anxiety every time I go dress shopping and half the time I cancel. Please Help!

I don't have an exact answer for you, but I do have a couple places I recommend you should call because I think they might be able to help.  The first is Here Comes the Bride in Addison.  Their phone number is (630) 261-9950.  The second is Marrilee's Bridal in Arlington Heights.  Their phone number is (847) 956-6060.  I don't know exactly what they have in plus sized gowns but I do know that they are incredibly nice at both places, especially Here Comes the Bride.  I think you should at least give them a call.  I hope this helps.  Good luck in your search!

The Crystal Bride in Lake Geneva is also a great place to find the dress for any bride (see my bio). I know they carry sample sizes because they are more of a boutique, but my Sales Assoc. indicated that they can fit girls up to street size 18 with clips. They do have so many different styles that i think it would be at least worth a visit there. Chante is amazing if you can set an appointment with her.

I got mine up at Kathryn's in McHenry.  I went there because after looking online I knew I wanted a Maggie Sottero and they happened to be one of the salons that carried it.  It was a bit of a drive but it was worth it.  I ordered a size 18 but found that I could go down to size 14 and not close it in the back (but could still get an idea of what it looked like) so that helped.  They had a pretty nice selection of dresses in sizes 14 and up.

I know Enzoani has a plus size line (Gorgeous with Curves) and have trunk shows throughout the country.  I just checked their website and there is another trunk show out at Bella Bridal in St. Charles, IL....they are very nice there.

Don't get discouraged.  It takes many brides multiple visits to find their dress.  You got time so be patient and keep trying!

I'm in the same boat. In Aurora there is this little shop called Estrella's. I bought my prom dress there way back when. She does fittings, finds the perfect dresses, and does alterations. I needed thicker straps to support the girls, so she made straps and cap sleeves for the dress, and altered the skirt to fit better.

I was just at a new bridal shop called Rue Belle in Elmhurst, IL looking for dresses and from the sound of it we are about the same size.  They had a one of the biggest selections of dresses in my size that I have seen so far.  The owner also told me that they are having a sale that is 50% off of everything in the store starting Thursday 4/22-Sunday 4/25.  The number to the store is 630-333-5016.
