Safest Caribbean Destinations

Hi All,

We are starting to look for a destination for our February '12 honeymoon. Does anyone have advice on either the safest destination sights in the caribbean (or islands we should definietly avoid!)? I have been doing a lot of research on government sites, but I would love to get advice based on people's experiences. We know that with any travel you need to be cautious, but I want to try to find the safest spot possible. Some places we are thinking are: St. Lucia, Jamacia, Bahama, Puerto Rico, Anguilla, and Turks & Caicos. We will be going with an all-inclusive resort.

    Just stay with your resort or resort tours. When venturing out, either go with a decent size group of other couples or stay with the resort tour guides. The people that work at your resort are great for information on this. Whichever you decide will be fine.

    I'm sure anywhere you go will still be safer than Boston...

    <div>Ditto this.  We were just on a cruise and had absolutely zero issues walking around Curacao, Aruba, St. Thomas or San Juan, PR.  We felt completely safe and secure.</div>

    We didn't really want to do just resort 'tourist' type stuff, Antigua seemed like a really nice option because my FI and I like to gamble and there's casinos on the island along with a lot of reviews I read on here about being able to go around on your own.  You can even rent a car at Sandals Antigua to drive around.  I've heard good things about St Lucia too.

    If you go to an AI and you're worried about island safety, just stay at the resort.  If you want to wander in the island, book an excursion with your hotel that will offer a guide as well.

    We've been to St.Lucia,Jamaica,Mexico, Key West (although not Caribbean) and Antigua. The only one we were so so on was Jamaica.
