NWR- FI Birthday Idea??

Good morning!!

My FI's golden birthday is fast approaching (the 29th) and I haven't a clue as to what to get him.  We usually don't do big birthday gifts, but I feel like I need to do something, because it's his golden, 29 on the 29th..and it's his last birthday until we are Mr. & Mrs. !

Anyone have a creative idea/gift?  We love day trips and the Reds!  In fact, we're going to the Joey Votto bobble head game on the 30th.. it's a big deal :) I'd say that's his gift, but he got the tickets..

I'm sure his idea of a great birthday will not be watching Will and Kate's wedding on TV, as much as I would like to.. haha

FI and I take day trips, too.  We're in Dayton, though, so some of my travel times might be a bit off, depending on where you live.

Last year, we went to Ripley, Ohio.  It's in the southern tip of the state and they have some Underground Railroad stuff.  They also have an old-fashioned soda fountain that nearly put me in a sugar coma :)  It was 2.5--3 hours to get there.  We took US-52/ Ohio River Scenic Byway, and there were stops along the way.  The drive is beautiful.

In Indiana, you could go to Clifty Falls.  It's right outside of Madison, a cute little town with lots of restaurants.  It took about three hours to get there, and the drive was also pretty.

Further south, you could go to Kentucky and follow the Bourbon Trail.  Wild Turkey, Maker's Mark and lots of other distilleries offer tours and tastings.  I'm a big MM fan, and I think they have the best tour.

    I hope this helps!

That place is awesome and right around the corner from there is a mexican restaurant with the most amazing homemade chips and salsa on the face of the earth. Best part - they're free with the meal.

My FI and I also love the Reds and I have a scrapbook of all of the Reds games and events we go to that he and I both love. You could make something like this!

We went to Hocking hills this past weekend. It's only 2 hrs away & had lots of cool stuff to see, like caves & waterfalls. If your into hiking or nature stuff at all you could do that.

Does he like King's Island? That might be fun! Or Cedar Point up North.
