My future father-in-law preached at church yesterday.  He preached about the lords prayer, and doing the compairison between our earthly father and our heavenly father.  One of the things said that maked me think of many of you here on the knot is that as our fathers don't always tell us things that are happening or why things happen because when we are children we do not need to know but we need to trust our parents that they will get us through the dificult times.

Like if your parents were going through financial troubles.  You knew that you weren't getting the things you want but you just didn't know why and your parents did not share with you the why but you do find out later when you are older.
The same thing holds true with God.  He may not always be transparent about why things are happening the way they are but eventually you find the reasoning.
It made me think of back 6 years ago when I applied for a position that I really wanted.   I did not get the position and ended up leaving the company for the Job I'm at right now.  I later found out that the position I wanted was moved back to Conneticut and everyone got laid off.  I also would not have met my fiance as I would have lived in a different part of the cities and he would not have contacted me back when we met (we met online.)

So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. -Galatians 3:26-28

I love this because it shows us that Jesus loves us, no matter what we look like, where we live, and he even loves us when we make mistakes. It helps me to *try* to love everyone even if I am mad at them or think they are wrong, etc. We should love others as Jesus does (don't get me wrong, it's not easy... but it's good inspiration!)

My mom's pastor yesterday preached on being courageous, not complacent.  When things are out of hand at home and you're not holding on to God like you used to, are you just being complacent?  Or are you going to stand up and be courageous and say, "We need to make a change."  It was all along that line.  :)  Really made me thing about it!!
