Barefoot Bride-BM Dresses

I was just wondering if anyone who has been to Barefoot Bride in Red Bank can tell me if they have a big selection of BM dresses.  It has the two brands that I am interested in (Dessy and Bill Levkoff), but I just want to make sure that they have a lot of samples in the store for my girls to try on.  They will be coming a long way and I want to make this a one stop shop if possible!  If anyone has other suggestions in the Central NJ area that carry these brands, I am also open to suggestions.

TIA!

Re: Barefoot Bride-BM Dresses

  • Maybe you can go during a trunk show? Then they will have the whole line. Call them and see!
  • I wanted to see Bill Levkoff dresses and found a large selection at Hearts for You in Englishtown (I think) on route 9. If there is any way you can avoid the weekend there, try to. They only have a few dressing rooms and it is really tight. Hollywood Bridal had the whole line too. Is it possible for you to "pre-shop" beforehand? I did this with my sister and MoH and we were able to narrow it down to 3 contenders. That made it much easier with the other girls who live far away.

  • Yes, I've been to Barefoot and they have a very good selection.  In addition to Barefoot, I'd also suggest checking out Cinderella Bridal in Matawan, which isn't too far from Barefoot if you want to make a day of it.

Are there specific styles you saw on the website that you want to check out?  If so, definitely call ahead and make sure they have the styles that you're interested in.  If they don't, call some of the other retailers listed on the website in the area and see if any of them have the styles you like.  I really like Dessy as well, and other places I've found with good selections (in addition to what has already been mentioned) are Antoinette Rose in Belmar (also carries Bill Levkoff) and Susan Wagner Designs in Pt. Pleasant.

  • Thanks everyone!  This is so helpful.  This is actually for a pre-shop with my sister (Matron of Honor) and futue sister-in-law (Maid of Honor), but we are coming from the city in look in NJ, since the other half of the BP lives in PA.  I think that I will try to make an appointment at Barfoot and one of the others that you mentioned in the area for the same day, and then I will go with the whole BP once we find the right store.  I will also look into trunk shows- that is a great idea.

    Thank you!!

  • I know this is an old post and you probably have already ordered your BM dresses. But I just had to add for future NJ brides...

Barefoot Brides in Red Bank, NJ is great. Lots of nice dresses, young, modern owner willing to help make your day as perfect as possible. I know several girls who have ordered from here and have been very happy. But Sales Unlimited in Bayville, NJ has a really good selection and a fabulous seamstress. Ask for Karen and you will be guided in the right direction on style, color and fit. My mom has used Karen for all her formal events as well as many weddings, including both my sisters.

However, do not go to Susan Wagner Design Studio in Point Pleasant, NJ. I had a horrible experience and was unable to wear the dress I ordered (don't ask me why I ever did buisness with this shop...!!!).

    Hello,

I see that this is an older strand. I'm just wondering if you could elaborate on your negative experience with Susan Wagner Design Studio and what the outcome was. I ordered my dress there and it's also unable to be worn. Any input you have would be appreciated!

    Thank you!
  • Please advise all friends and family to never use Antoinette Rose in belmar or brick. The owner tries to rip People off and will off you a quote on bridesmaid dresses and then will not honor it! She is well known to have messed up several bridesmaid dress orders, as well as getting in wedding gowns two days before a wedding and telling the bride she can't help her with alterations! On top of it the Owner is extremely condescending and with all the stress we brides go through on our wedding days this is something no one should have to worry about!
