Booked our venue!! Now what?

Hi Ladies! I just had to share the good news that we've booked our venue and date! We're getting the Beachmoor Inn on 9/17/11! I'm so excited! We had some potential conflicts about the date with FI's fam, but those have all been worked out and we could not be happier.

Now that the venue is booked, I feel like we have a lot of time before we have to book anything else. Do you all think waiting until at least a year away to book dj, flowers, etc. is enough time? Thanks!

    The great DJs book waaaaay in advance, so if you want the best, book now!!  Same for photography!

    I agree- I'd start looking for DJs now. We booked almost 11 months out, and when I started looking for DJs so many were already booked. Then, you may as well start knocking things off your to do list so you have less to worry about leading up to it.

    Basically, I'd book the vendors that only do one wedding a day-- DJ, Photographer. FLorists and cake people can usually do two so it's not as much of a big deal.

    And congratulations on booking your venue! I know that made everything so much more 'real' to me.

    Agree with Karen!  It's never too soon to look for your photographer and band/DJ - or any other vendor that can't do more than one wedding in a day.  And think about how good it will feel to cross those things off of your list now!

    Definitely get as much as possible done as you can when you can.  It will feel good to get things checked off, and its less to worry about the closer you get.

    Can't help with DJ, but have fantastic reviews for photographer and florist if you are not sure who to pick

    Karen Bryden has been fantastic to work with for flowers - Kikibird just used her as well and I can't wait for the final vendor review but I'm sure it will be fantastic.

    and Kristen Dawn is our photographer - we just recently had our engagement photos taken (only a year late, but who's counting) and she did an amazing job - she was so easy to work with, and she's extremely reasonable in price.  We are her most recent blog if you want to see her work.
