I know it's only thursday, but I figure it's never too early to start looking forward to the weekend. What's everyone doing this holiday weekend? Achi, is Monday a holiday for you?
I won't be on at all this weekend. My family is involved in a re-enactment that takes place every Labor Day weekend. So I get to go back in time 200 years. For those of you in the Columbus and Cincinatti areas (it's not really that far of a drive) it's called
The Fair at New Boston, if youw would want to come. I get to dress in 18th century costume and tend bar as a tavern wench in the Black Horse tavern. It's going to be really different this yearto mark the bicentenial of the War of 1812. Though the British didn't really come this far south (Springfield Ohio), they did hold Fort Detroit so we're going to have the British flag above our fort.
Unfortunately the remains of Isaac are supposed to come through the area this weekend. I'm hoping it goes around us. Our event takes place on a field, and while it takes place rain or shine...a wet, muddy field isn't always the most fun. My dad is an amputee and for this event he wears a peg leg. In years when it's been really muddy he's gotten stuck (a real stick in the mud...lol).
