Ok so this is kind of a weird question but, my fiance and I are having a bird themed wedding, so for our escort cards and favors we got these realistic carved bird ornaments of local bird species.  The florist is making trees for the escort card "table" and the ornaments will all be hung with little tags on them with the person's name on the tag.  The table "number" is actually the specie of bird your ornament is.
So my question is, is it  weird for a family of 5 or 6 that will no doubt be seated at the same table to go home with 6 of the same bird ornament?  They're not really xmas ornaments, they just look like little birds that happen to have a loop of string attached to their back (does that make sense?).   It seemed too small a gift to do one per family or couple.
Thoughts?

Re: Too many of the same favor for a family?
But it sounds complicated to me. How do people know that their "bird" is also their table assignment? I don't know the difference between a wren and a sparrow. Do I have to know that?
Will the names say something like:
Homer and Marge Simpson, Table #7: Wren
And then table #7 will have the number, the word Wren, and a picture of a wren on it?
Because without numbers as identifiers, I picture your guests wandering around wondering if cardinal is closer or robin or bluejay. And worse, wandering around trying to compare the bird in their hand to a picture on a table.
Thanks for your advice though, I feel a little more relaxed about a family having a "flock" of a specific bird.

personally I wouldnt have a need for a bird ornament but if it goes with your theme then I would use them.... most ppl dont remember what favor they got from a particular wedding....
