Ceremonies

Do any of you have your ceremonies planned out yet, or at least know some details?  I dont even know what time ours is starting yet.  Its on my checklist to talk with the officiate about, but we havent even talked with him about any details.  I feel like I should have this done by now.

  • I am in the same boat as you. We don't even know for sure what time it will start. My pastor said we will meet about 4 months out to figure this out. :)
  • We are leaning toward a 3pm ceremony. The officiant is a family friend so he already sent us a rough outline/script for the ceremony. Nothing is finalized but we've started planning it out as far as the layout. We still need to select music and readings and write our vows.
  • Our ceremony and reception are at the same place so the only things I know is what time the ceremony is starting and who the officiant is.  A friend is officiating and we will sit down as the date gets closer to plan the ceremony.

  • We picked a start time when we booked the church.  We received a program to fill out ourselves with readings and stuff in the mail, but we have yet to meet with the priest and finalize things.
  • We just discussed the ceremony with our priest yesterday. The church has an outline that needs to be followed, but we added a couple things and personalized it to fit us. This obviously goes without saying, but especially now that the ceremony is planned out, I can't wait for it :)

  • We are still figuring that out also. Trying to see how long the photos will take and also to figure out the reception time.
  • We are planning a 3:30 ceremony, with a 5:30 dinner.  My uncle is officiating, so we will plan out the ceremony with him as it gets closer.  I wouldn't worry about planning out the details of the ceremony yet, but I would talk to your venue/church about the time because you will need it for invites.  
  • We have 2 options for a start time: 2pm or 2:30.  So that makes it easy, and we'll be starting at 2:30.  Cocktails start at 4:30 and dinner at 6.
  • we have the church booked and musicians picked... but we still have to meet with everyone to go over details. i figured somewhere between 4-6 months for that meeting...so, soon!
  • You're not alone, we haven't really planned anything related to the ceremony.

    We don't even have an officiant yet!

  • My brother is my officiant (and lives in Utah while we are in MN) and what he did is asked us to write our own ceremony outline up and email it to him (VERY STRESSFUL when he asked that), so my Mom helped me find an outline that is suitable for our church, and I added in the readings we chose, songs we are walking in/out to, any things I wanted my brother to speak about, etc...

    I know my brother intends to ask each of us separate questions to continue to personalize the ceremony!!
