I don't understand

I don't get these McCormick spice packs.<-- click

You use all of the spices.  Why not put it in one pouch I can rip open instead of 6 little plastic things to open?  Not to mention the extra cost/impact of that packaging.  Plus it will take up more room.

These are my deep thoughts this morning.

This is an awesome lime chicken.  Very, very easy and tasty and basic ingredients.

I was also confused by the packaging at the store. I put it back.

Fun fact: I used to work down the road from their spice factory, and it was always interesting getting out of my car in the morning and trying to figure out what they were processing that day based on the smell.  Cinnamon day was my favorite.

I saw them and immediately thought "wasteful friggin packaging" and they irritated me.
For cereal, can't we just have recipes and scoop out spices.  I mean, I hate it when I'm missing one spice (tarragon comes to mind--never have it) but...spending to much $ to buy one pack?  My cheapness meter got huffy.
(but then again, I quit buying packs of taco seasoning 90% of the time--I just add spices until it resembles taco seasoned meat)

I think that packaging is to give people the illusion of actually cooking. Rahter than simply assembling (and don't get me wrong, I have no problem with assembling).
