On my way to work this morning traffic was particularly heavy and off in the distance I could see police lights and knew that there must have been a pretty bad accident. As I contiued to drive I saw that the lights and squad cars were on the other side of the expressway. As I drove closer I saw a bunch of men in suits and black cars and knew immediated that there was a fatal accident as there were no cars on the expressway heading in that direction for miles. My heart sank a little bit and thought of anyone that my travel in that direction in the morning. I called my fiance when I finally got to work (because he had tried calling me twice) and he told me that a pedestrian was hit and killed. I got online and found an article that said while a man was changing his tire he was struck by a vehicle and then was hit several more times by oncoming traffic. As the news unfolded, I found out that he was an Ann Arbor firefighter, a husband and father to 3 young children.
This was on my mind for the better part of the day. Please pray for his family. I can only imagine the grief they are feeling.
