New TV Shows

Stop me if we've already talked about this, but I'm interested to hear of some new (or old) tv shows that you think are worth watching.

I started watching Revenge on ABC and I think I might start watching it regularly.  It looks like it could get interesting.

Suburgatory, Whitney, The New Girl and Up All Night are funny but I don't think I'd be upset if I missed a week.

Dexter feels like it's new because it has been so long since it has been on.  It was a great season premiere though!

Any new shows you're falling in love with?

I've watched the first episodes of Whiteney, Up All Night, and the New Girl, and I basically feel the same as you on them.  I have Revenge DVR'ed and only watched half of it so far.

I have watched the first 2 episodes of PanAm and am definitely liking it.  I didn't get into too many because I already have a huge list of shows that I watch regularly.

I tried to watch Whitney but that laughing throughout the episode dove me crazy!

I watch Modern Family, which is not new but amazing! Up All Night was funny but like you said, I could miss an episode.

We also watch the amazing race and then I DvR all of my Bravo shows and watch them when H sleeps in on the weekends!

I was not impressed with Whitney, sadly. It was really really cheesy. I liked The New Girl, and am kinda bummed to be missing it tonight. Has anyone seen 2 Broke Girls? I saw it for the first time last night, and I must say, it's really funny. I was surprised by all the cursing, though. Not that it offended me, just that they got away with "puta" and "bittch" every 2 seconds was, impressive. LOL

"Homeland"  I watched it, and I Loved it. It's a bit far fetched (A Marine MIA & presumed dead for 8 years, is suddenly found and a CIA officer is convinced that he's turned traitor) It's got Claire Danes in it, and the Marine kind of reminds me of Dr. Hunt from Greys, but I don't think it's the same guy..

I've enjoyed "The Playboy Club" and "Pan Am" though I have trouble with Christina Ricci as a perky stewardess (Though she's kind of anti authority so I can deal with it), Mostly I'm just glad to have my shows back, Grey's, Housewives (of the desperate persuasion.. not the real kind), Modern Family, I'm liking the New Girl & Revenge, I like Whitney way better than 2Broke Girls (I'm with Hike, I hate laugh tracks)... Thats really all I can think of right now..

I agree about Whitney.  The live audience seems weird to me now.  I also think they show all the funny parts during the previews, so it isn't that funny when you actually watch it.

    I love Modern Family!

CAB- I have seen parts of 2 Broke Girls.  From what I watched it looked really funny, I just keep forgetting what night it is on to watch it.

I like Whitney, but I enjoy cheesy, obvious humor, so there you go.

In general, I'm bad about watching new TV shows.  I don't generally get into TV shows until they've been on for several seasons and people start telling me how good they are.

It does look like him, but it is actually the guy from Band of Brothers.  We don't have Showtime but I went to a friend's house to watch Dexter.  Homeland was on right after.  It looked interesting but I wasn't able to stay and watch it.

We were supposed to go to a friends' house last night to watch Dexter (they DVR'd it) but they cancelled on us.  I still haven't watched most of last season anyway, so I really need to catch up first!

I'm addicted to Burn Notice and actually quite sad that it's done until November.

I'm watching Grey's again and Private Practice and Glee.  I haven't seen any new shoes - like Elle, I usually don't start watching new shoes until they've been on awhile.  That allows me to watch multiple episodes in a sitting, rather than have to wait a week or two at a time for a new one.  I find it easier to get into a show that way.

Anyone else super pissed off about this new Fox thing?  I can't watch House or Glee until 8 days after - wtf?!

Extremely.  I missed Glee and The New Girl last week, so I expected to watch them the next day.  Now I'm a whole week behind.  So I guess I'll watch it tonight (Don't have a DVR) and then watch last week's tomorrow. Super lame.

I love modern family... LOVE it. My FI mostly hates the awkward comedy that I like (The Office), but he admits to watching this show and finding it hilarious too. The Dude Ranch Episode was by far one of the funniest episodes yet, I just loved the nicknames that the guy came up with.

I have this thing where if I don't catch the first episode I won't watch the series. So I am stuck catching up on all the Grey's Anatomy's from years ago, I think I am still stuck on season 3. That takes up most of my TV time.

That and my guilty pleasure of Sister Wives, I think it is strange on so many levels but I have to watch and see what happens. I would never ever ever want my Husband to marry some other woman...but I think it is entertaining....so weird but entertaining

I feel like the only thing they did was keep me from ever watching the show on TV.  I usually watch my shows on the computer anyway, but once in awhile if I'm around when it's on, I'll sit down and watch.  Except now I'll have missed the previous week's episode, so I won't.

Their advertisers are the ones who miss out, stupid Fox.  Rather than 20 minutes of ads during the hour long shows, I'll only be watching 4-5 minutes when it comes on the internet.

C- I am addicted to Burn Notice too...MW is HOT!!!!

I am watching Revenage as well.  It is really good.  I must admit to watching the Secret Circle.  Its pretty good too.  I love Up All Night.  I picture that as what will happen when I have a baby and my best friend comes in the picture.  I still watch NCIS.  Mark Harmon...need I say more!

I wanted to see Pan Am. Reviews for anyone who has seen it would be great.  I fall asleep every time I try to watch it.

Fox annoys me....their shows take over a week to make it to Hulu, which is the way I watch most of my shows. It really pisses me off because if I miss one week...I miss the next week because I couldn't watch it on hulu until a week later.

I miss having a DVR like a mofo. I'm a TV and pop-culture addict, so it's really sucked, but at least we have cable. I haven't gotten horribly into any new shows, yet, but I do really like Pan-Am so far, I'm just really missing Mad Men, so this feeds it. However, Mad Fashion tonight on Bravo, I've been looking forward to that for at least a month. I have tons of shows I regularly watch. It's sad.

Counting things on hiatus, I will always either watch when they come on or hulu ASAP: Mad Men, House, HIMYM, The Big Bang Theory, Family Guy, Modern Family, Burn Notice, White Collar, Royal Pains, The Middle, most Top Chef, The Office, Parks and Rec (love), Community, 30 Rock, most Ken Burns docs on PBS (Prohibition is fascinating), The Soup, Grey's, Private Practice, The Rachel Zoe Project, Millionaire Matchmaker, and probably more. It's sad.

I also tend to catch re-runs on TLC of their wedding shows, which both fascinate and scare me.

I love The New Girl and Two Broke Girls.  They are both too funny.  I also like Person of Interest.  I've watched Revenge but I'm not sure how I feel about it.  I've been watching Whitney.  Parts are funny, but I'm not totally impressed.
