Hair and Makeup!

Does anyone know of any good hair stylist/makeup artist that are affordable? I looked up several but so far everything is coming out to be around $300 or more! Is that too much?

    Maybe try your local board? I'd love to be in South Florida right now though to help you find one! Lol. I see this is your first post, so maybe our mod can help you a bit better. $300 does seem a bit ridiculous, IMO but I suppose it depends on how much you are getting done.

    That is totally dependent on your area.  I happen to live in south Florida but I'm getting married in Virginia so I don't even know what the rates are down here.  Your best bet is to post on the south Florida board...those girls are very helpful.   

    I do love the lady that does my hair regularly though.  Her specialty is just cut and color but she did my hair for prom and was great.  And she's honest...if you show her something she doesn't know how to do she'll tell you right there so it isn't a disaster on your wedding day.  And she's super reasonably priced.  Her shop is in Davie though.  If that is close to where you'll be let me know and I can pass on her info.  I don't think they do makeup there.  They do have a nail tech though.

    I think $300 for Hair and Makeup is a decent price for our area.

    check out www.amandalynnsalon.com ... used her for my wedding ... she charges by hour not per person ... haiir and makeup were PERFECT for the wedding ... mob mog and bms loved her

    I don't think it's reasonable to spend upward of $300 for hair and makeup that gets washed off in a few hours.  I've been looking around at a few salons and they're about $60 for makeup (20-30 extra if you want airbrushing) and up-do's starting around $70.  You do have to be willing to drive tothe salon, but I personally don't think that's a big deal.  In fact, I have a makeup and hair trial this weekend that I'm paying $45 and it's by no means a mickey-mouse salon.  You just have to shop around and see what's out there and find someone whose work you like.  Expensive doesn't necessarily mean better :o)

    I completely agree! My MUA is charging me $50 as a bride, my mom, and my BMs. She did an awesome job and it wasn;t airbrush. Like Sandra said, you really have to look around. I was recommended a person to do my hair and she charges $65-75.
