Makeup Trial....ha.

So I was at the mall the other day - I had some time and had no makeup on so I said I would go to a makeup counter and get a trial just for fun to see what they would come up with.  I went to the Bobby Brown counter and told the girl I was getting married and she told me that she does freelance and could come to me the day of my wedding.  So...I get the trial.

Now, it looked nice, not great. But my skin was so slick from all the moisterizing foundation she used that there is no way it would last all day for a wedding, much less an hour.  She also put on so much mascara my fiance told me it looked like spiders on my eyes.  But the main thing, it just was not properly applied to last all day.

So, at the end she starts explaining her freelancing contract and then drops her price on me - .....
$320
Are you kidding?!   I feel so bad for any bride who pays that much for wedding day makeup, much less wedding day makeup that is not good!!  I have been doing wedding makeup on the side for years and that was just unheard of to me!
It just further solidified that I am definitely doing MY OWN makeup the day of.  Unless it is Kim Kardashians makeup artist or Bobby Brown herself they are not touching my face!!

    $320 that's insane. I paid $85 including my trial.

$320 is crazy! Was that just for the bride? Or for the entire wedding party? If it was for everybody, it actually seems ok. But for the bride alone, thats way too much!

Now the $200 makeup artists don't sound too bad! lol!

I went to a salon and my makeup was $85. And the girl did a great job!

I would suggest to you www.beautybynicole.com she is also freelance, but I've had a trial for hair and makeup by her.  She knows what shes doing, but she also LISTENS to you!  And she's local, right in chester!

Not sure what mall you went to but my makeup artist works at the Poughkeepsie Galleria at the MAC counter and she is less than half that amount.  she is a friend of my hair stylist and i also saw someone else on here used her and loved her too.  Arlene.

WOW !!  Thats ridiculious ,  and it wasn't even good!  Did you tell her your thoughts on what you looked like or did you just leave it alone .

Especially you being in the business , I'm sure you had to feel somewhat insulted by her lack of talent and price .

That's ridiculous. I had a very similar experience and I was really upset. The girl at the Bobbi Brown counter did my makeup so badly, she put SO much "mist" on me to keep me looking "dewy" I ended up breaking out all over my face. Thanks, a lot!
