Peonies help

I have not looked much into Peonies but does anyone know when they are in season? My wedding is in April and would love to have them. And I will be purchasing bouquets only and no center pieces.. does anyone know about how much a decent size peonies bouquet would run about? I have a very small budget but want to have peonies in my wedding. anybody know good/bad things about them. thanks for your help!

I know they are available in the Spring so I think you'll be fine. My wedding was at the end of May and I had them in my bouquet (pics in married bio). My bouquet cost about $70 and my wedding was in Florida but keep in mind that prices vary depending on where you live.

yes, their best season is spring, you won't have a problem finding them!!! peonies are very nice flowers, sometimes very expensive.

In case you nee to subtitute them, peony roses (garden roses) are the best way to go ! they look very very similar!

I was able to get white and fushia peony for my son's upcoming wedding in Jan. 30 in Florida. Pricer in winter, but doable. The wholesaler said that the garden roses in hot pink where iffy in January, so we are going with the hot pink peony and hot pink ranuculus. Which also mimics peony when fully open. Just not as large. Your florist will be able to call their wholesalers and let you know if they can get your particular color in your wedding month. The wholesalers call all their growers, and then get back with the florist as to whether they can get them or not.

i don't have any idea. i got a discount through a bridal show that counted towards my bridal bouquet, so when it was all said and done i have no idea the value of my bouquet.

the small bm bouquets were $40 each. pics in married bio.

your best bet is to just contact a few local florists and get quotes!

I've gotten a lot of different quotes for peony bouquets ranging from $100 to $300. It just depends on the florist.

Peonies are wonderful, and another (almost identical) alternative is a Garden Rose. They're a little heartier too, so they aren't as frial as peonies when they open.

My florist said depending on the time of year that Garden Roses are almost the same price as peonies if not more expensive.

my florist won't touch garden roses because they are MORE frail than peonies by the time they are open enough to have a similar look.

I LOVE the look of peonies and really want them for my wedding in june but dont think they will be in season? So I think I will do maybe a mixture with ranunculas too or try the garden roses

june should definitely be a great month to get peonies! have you researched this at all? i think end of may is their peak season.

I too am having peonies in my wedding (June). I researched their growing season, and it lasts from the end of may through the beginning of June, though I'm sure you could get them a bit earlier and later than that.

I am in love with the idea of peonies too. I was considering buying them online and trying to DIY my flowers, but the more I research it, the more confusing it gets. And I talked to a florist today and it was just as frustrating....
