Just Engaged and Proposals

Well. I did not see that coming.

Hi everyone.  First post here, since becoming engaged... what, 24hrs ago?

Just had to pop in and show off my bling.  Most ludicrous proposal in the world, though - - caught me in sweats, coming downstairs, with our song playing, roses and candy (okay, Starburst, but candy is candy) and went down on one knee.  Not the most fairytale proposal, but very very us.  And strangely enough, my mother, who I thought would be blase about the whole thing, has turned into the giggliest, nerdiest human ever since I told her.  So happy right now that I can't stand it.  Though altering boyfriend to fiance after seven years is strange...

  • My fiance proposed to me on a Saturday morning while I was in my pajamas. It may not be the most glamorous thing in the world, but it's definitely romantic in its own way, LOL. Congratulations...your ring is beautiful!

Congratuatlions to you and your future hubby! That is great that he proposed in a way that was you guys and able to suprise you. You probably would have caught on, if he was doing something overly romantic. My guy proposed after 9 years together at home, on christmas as I was watchign CMT and was at first irritated that he was in front of me while eating my cherrios! Enjoy all the new-ness of being together this long and it really being forever now! PS: i have been engaged for 5 months now and still slip and call him my boyfriend instead of finace'! It's hard to break that habit.

Congrats! Mine was on a Thursday night, after dinner. In my sweats and I had just finished washing dishes. Walked into the living room and he dropped to one knee. Very unexpected, but so much us.

    CONGRATS!!!   your ring is beautiful!!

FI caught me in sweats, no make-up, on the couch watching tv.  i agree it wasn't the most romantic of proposals (like you see in the movies) but i wouldn't change it.

  • Congratulations!
  • Congrats! I think that type of proposal is the best!  My fiance is a police officer and works in the are where we live.  He dropped in unexpectedly while on duty and dropped to one knee... uniform and all :) So us, and couldn't have been more suprised!
    Happy planning!Smile
