Price per plate?

Hi,We are planning our destination wedding for June/July of 2010.  We've got at least 6 destinations we're chosing from, and as we're researching, we're realizing the price may dictate the place.I got a quote back for a beautiful venue in Tahoe that we know would be perfect (Incline villiage).  The cheapest per person dinner was $143 - and it didn't include alcohol! Is that what I should expect to pay for that area?  I asked if we could get it down to $75/plate, and was told that I'd have to get married in the morning and have a lunch or brunch menu.Any advice/ideas are appreciated.  I mean, what is everyone else willing to or paying per person?Thanks...Heather

Re: Price per plate?

  • what time of year are you planning your wedding for? I can tell you that the prices in incline are going to be higher than other places on the lake. Are you looking at a resturant or a catering company? Depedning on the time of year that could be a price for tahoe, or it could be way overpriced. If you are in peak summer or winter weeks it would be normal.  there are a lot of other areas on the lake though. No matter what time of year you will always be paying more in incline compared to areas like south lake.

  • does the 143 include anything else???  do you have to pay extra for table linens and chair covers or anything like that?  Is there a seperate price for the venue or is it included in this price?  i'm sure you are already taking these things into acount, but i was just asking because i thought it was pretty expensive.  I know my friend got quotes for some places in washington dc around that price, but it included lots of other stuff i think.
