hi girls. I wasn't a huge knottie, i never created a bio or anything but the one thing i always looked to this site for was advice. I thought it was only fair i share stoires of the vendors I used in hopes some other bride to be would get some help from it:
Sorry its long I tired to get them all in one post
Crowne Plaza Hotel (Grade A+) This place was great for us! We had over 70 percent of the wedding being out of town guests so it was super important to us to have the hotel/reception combo, and boy did that work perfectly! I can not stress enough how great this place was to work with, so accommodating, so friendly, so pleasing. Even the guests are still talking about how nice the rooms and staff were. As for the reception part it was all the same reviews, food came out great (Chicken Boursin and Prime Rib), the waitstaff were so great, even when 4 of my guests at various times broke glasses on the dance floor, opps! Both the wedding coordinators at this place are super sweet and so accommodating, I mean literally anything I came up with they said yes too!! They let us bring in Greek pastries for dessert, dealt with my huge table mess up, I switched the placement of 2 tables and how many ppl at each ( that is what you get for doing table seating at 5am the week before the wedding! I can not say enough nice things about this place, if you are looking in the Nashua area, don’t overlook the Crowne Plaza, it is worth everything!!!
Capital City Limo (Grade A+) I found capital city online randomly when I was doing a limo search. I needed a stretch suv limo for only 3 hours and hated the idea of paying big bucks for it. So glad I booked them! The driver I got was named David, and he was great, stayed with me till the second I walked down the aisle and even watched my whole 45 Greek orthodox ceremony!!! I have been in about 5 weddings and taken plenty of limo rides from companies in the NH area and NO, driver was this great ever! They charge by far the best prices, I paid $357 total including grat, for a 14 passenger SUV on the Sunday of Memorial Day wkend!!! The limo wasn’t a brand new model but it was clean and well kept and served its purpose quite well for us and our bridal party. I would highly suggest anyone check them out, not always a bad idea to use a vendor different from the rest of the pack!
PJ’s Flowers in Bedford NH ( Grade A) I went with PJ, because of his relationship with my hometown church and I was not disappointed! He has great prices, and great customer service! He sent my mom and gift cert to use in his shop as a TY for them doing my wedding flowers. I love carnations and he did a great job with my request, my bouquet was over 50 only white carnations no greens or fillers( hate that stuff) My girls were similar except shades of pinks only. Everything came out so great. My only gripe and why I didn’t give an A+, is because the stephanotis that was used in grooms boutiner was kind of browned, although I mean it was 87 degrees out so I am not sure how that flower holds up in heat. And also my flower girls pomanders started falling apart, one of them completely fell apart before the ceremony, however that was the same FG that threw a tantrum and didn’t come out of the bathroom, so it might have been her fault as well. Needless to say I would not think twice to recommend him to ANYONE!!
Main Event DJ, DJ Kibar M. (Grade C+) I hate the fact I am not giving an A for this vendor, when we met with him 3 weeks before the wedding and gave all details I was SOO excited, unfortunately he didn’t deliver. However, most guests would have never known the things he screwed up, so that is why I didn’t give a lower grade. Here’s why I gave the grade I did: He screwed up the grooms first name when we were entering the reception started saying the name Colin... to bad my hubby’s name is Conor! My list of must play songs were all played during dinner ( fast and slow ones) This made me very mad, because a few of the faster ones were clearly dancing songs and people were eating when they were played. I feel that this was a huge error on his part for not being very experienced. NOTE to all brides, unless you love the song you might want to put the “where in the world is Carmen San Diego” theme song on your do not play list, because yes, he PLAYED that song and no nobody requested it. You should have seen the faces on my guests when it came on! I was so embarrassed, lets just say the dance floor was cleared in 2 seconds when that came on, and BELIEVE me the dance floor was packed all night long!!! When we met with him he told us that he likes to have a fast paced last dance song I said ok and that I wanted it to be Don’t stop believing by journey, he said he plays “shook me all night long” I asked not to play that as I don’t like it, but yet he did want he wanted to an played it anyways! However I do have to say the crowd was chanting for an encore, and he tired ignoring them but did end up playing one ( and it was a not so great selection on his part ,song was she’s a Brick House) nobody really danced much after it started playing, haha. Our guests were dancing the night away, all night long, however I did have many people come up to me and ask about the DJ’s song selections a few times, which made me mad, I thought he was young and fresh and would be the perfect fit for my wedding which had a majority age range of 25-55, but I think he needs a lot of direction from his brides and grooms and maybe just some more experience. I do have faith though that he is a good dj, so give him a shot, just make sure you add the Carmen san diego song to your do not play list J
Liz McNeill Jenkins Photography ( Grade A+) Haven’t seen the pro ones from her yet (should be getting the link this week, but the teasers are great (even though I hate the way I look, not her fault my dress and I had a love/ HATE relationship). I CAN NOT tell you how many guests came up to me and said how nice and sweet Liz and her assistant were! She has great ideas and is super organized, kept us all right on schedule! She really takes the time to get to know the bride and groom!! Even met us at the Crowne Plaza and church 3 weeks before the wedding so she could get a feel and start collecting ideas and photos incase weather didn’t work out!!! Her prices are sooo reasonable too!! She is fairly newer in the NH wedding business (used to do it all the time but took a break to raise her kids, this is what my friend told me as she used her 2 years ago). Email or contact me if you want to see my pro ones or have any questions about her, she is on the web as well!!!
Picture Perfect Make Up NH (Grade A) I booked this about 2 weeks before my wedding after my DIY make up started to be very costly! I ended up hiring the owner Erika, and can not give her enough raves!!! I never did a trail just sent her a pic of an idea and a pic of myself. She showed up on time and ready to go! I loved my make up, she did exactly what I asked I didn’t want foundation and wanted to play up my eyes, she did just that!! I highly recommend her!!!
Salon Amethyst Hair, Manchester NH Francesca and Melinda (Grade A+++) Stay tuned as they are thinking of going on the road and doing weddings!!! Kinda like the Glam Fairy for people that watched Jearseylious J They did such a great job with EVERYONES hair!!! And were fast and well priced. Email me if you want their info as I would need to check with them before I hand it out.
