Dress Shops

I am finally going dress shopping! I just went this weekend with my best friend ( she found her dress!!!!) and have realized there are many different types of shops. I am hoping to get some recommendations for places that will be a little more on the personal side and help me out more so than a place where I help myself. We went to two different places, that I won't name, that just were not very helpful and quite impersonal.

Two places I was going to check out were Konjas and The Wedding Shoppe. Does anyone have personal experience at either of those??

I am open to any suggestions!! Thanks ladies!

I personally didn't like the Wedding Shoppe, but that's just because I am not a size 8 or smaller and couldn't even try on a lot of the dresses I thought I might like. Not to mention for me personally all their dresses were pretty far out of my price range.

The service was good, the shop keepers were friendly and helped pick out dresses and helped clip me in - I definitely can't complain about that.

if you're a bit curvy, my favorite experience (and the place I will be purchasing my dress from) has been Bombshell Bridal Boutique in Saint Clair Shores. The owner is SUPER nice and really helpful. She helped me pick out a TON of dresses and encouraged me to try on some unique styles I wouldn't have initially picked for myself. I had a blast trying stuff on with her too, she gave honest comments/opinions when I asked but wasn't forceful about anything. I highly highly recommend them!

I went to Konja's with my bridesmaids and I loved it there. They do free alterations and were EXTREMELY helpful.  I didn't go there for my dress but it seemed like they had a lot of options.

I went to Nicole Michaels in Shelby Township. I LOVED it there. It was my 3rd place (also did Alessandra's in Warren which I was meh about but a lot of people love it and David's Bridal which I really hated but has some decent dresses, just don't expect good service).  She's got a very large selection of gorgeous dresses, many under $1000. I got mine for $715 and was thrilled. Nicole is wonderful to work with.

I had an excellent experience at Barb's Bridal in Chesterfield at Gratiot & 21 Mile. You will get an intimate experience. They have a wide selection of dresses. The sales people are very helpful!!!

I just ordered my dress this weekend from Christine at Sarah's Bridal in Milan, MI. Christine was very nice and super personable. The boutique is in an odd building, like and industrial building but the shop is bright and spacious. All the dresses in her shop are 1500.00 and under. She had a decent size collection of dresses you can order and tons that are closeout dresses in the back. So far I liked working with her and I hope the rest of the dress process goes smoothly with her.
