Local Edible Favors

Trying to decide on favors, and I'd like to do something from a business local to the Poughkeepsie area.  I am thinking about truffles/chocolates, or cookies, or maybe small bottles of wine (not sure I want to spend that much).  Since I haven't lived in the area in so long I don't really know what's good.

Any suggestions?

Also looking for suggestions about getting a few things for out of town guest bags.  Any local businesses that sell canvas bags that advertise their business (Adams maybe)?  Also any suggestions for cool little local things to add to the bags (maybe apple & cider from a local orchard)?

What time of year is your wedding?  Check out Farmers Markets for the farms and wineries.  Always ask, I'm sure even if they haven't done it, they might!

    small bottles of wine/apple cider
    caramel/chocolate dipped apples
    jams and jellies
    baked coffee cakes/crumb cakes
those "everything in a bag" pasta, soup, baked goods

It's a fall wedding, October 8th.  I live a few hours away and I'm not sure when/if I'll be in the area again before the wedding, so I was hoping to find a place where I could order online/via phone.  So I'm looking for suggestions for a good business(es) to work with for something like chocolate/cookies, wine, apple cider, maybe something like a jam or jelly.

HI - you can see if there is a bakery that will prepare indiviudally wrapped cookies or brownies - if there is a tourism website you can see what is considered a local item

The brotherhood winery in Washingtonville is doing our small wine bottles. You can probably call Adams for pricing on their bags, baked items or even apples. They'll probably have all of it. I've had great luck with all their products and services.

Or do a Google and see if any of the local orchards do candy/carmel apples or cider - there is one that does it in Warwick NY, not sure if they ship. I forget the name but Google should bring it up. GL

    Check out www.corsinocakes.com

Owner Derek Corsino was just on the Food Network doing one of the cake challenges & placed 2nd!! Not too shabby for his 1st time.  His cakes are amazing!  He's also our pastry chef and he's opening a store front right on Main St in the Village of Wappingers.  I HIGHLY recommend him!!!

We are getitng our cake from Homestyle Desserts which is in Peekskill... I guess it might be a tad far from Poughkeepsie but they're rated the best desserts in Westchester County, so it may be worth the extra mileage!!

Thanks everyone!  I forgot that Adams has The Pastry Garden right there.  I might be able to get everything I need at those two places.
