Wedding after party...where to go?

Hi ladies! So my fiance and I have pretty much decided on Olowalu for next Feb and are days away from signing the contract, however we are concerned about the 10pm rule! We would like to keep the party going... any advice for an after party location, ideas? To those that had their wedding at Olowalu, did you feel rushed having to be out by 10pm? The tentative date is for a wednesday!
Thanks in advance;)

We're getting married on a Wednesday as well at Olowalu this September.  Since we figure we will be tired after an early day of getting ready and being outside most of the day we decided to do an after after afterparty at Timba Friday night.  We will reserve a sofa for our bridal party and invite everyone...not hosted...to join us.  As for Wednesday night if you are interested in dancing there is Moose's Lahaina and in the south there is Moose's in Kihei and a martini bar called Ambrosa. If you just want to chill and have a drink then you can try various hotel bars as well. HTH! J. :-)

We are getting married at Olowalu in 29 days!  We are staying in Kihei so we are having an after party at Three's Bar and Grill.  We don't want to go home and go to bed at 10pm!

You guys are energetic!  We didn't plan an after party...we expected that we and our guests would be pooped at the end of the night.  Most had at least a 3 hour time difference from the West Coast, some 5 and 6 from the East.  Plus, with 3 days of planned / hosted activities, there wasn't a need to extend just the wedding night.   I might recommend having an after party option, but not one where you have to commit funds ahead of time (assuming your party is small enough) just in case you and everyone else are tired.

<div>I agree with this! Our entire party is from the East Coast and we'll only be there 1.5 days before we're married so staying out late isn't incredibly likely.</div>

I agree with ppl.  Our party ended later than most on Maui (11 p.m.) and our guests were pretty tired by the end.  If your party ends at 10 p.m., also factor in time for guests to get to the other location, etc.  Instead of an after party, we scheduled brunch the next morning.  Everyone attended and really enjoyed it.  If we had an after-party, ppl would've probably skipped brunch.

Most of our guests are from Alaska, so we are only 2 hours ahead of Hawaii.  We didn't reserve a private room or anything.  We just spoke with the owners, they booked a DJ, and we are just going to go party!  If people would rather go to bed, they certainly can but I don't want the night to end at 10....

I hear you AK! Most of us will be coming from Vancouver and the majority of us will be in our twenties and early thirties so Im pretty confident that our friends and some family will want to keep the party going! Im not sure that I want to go as far as to put money down to reserve an after party just in case everyone is tired, but definitely hope that there are options for us to go and dance afterwards! Maybe our planner Cherise will have some ideas for us? We are planning on staying in the Kaanapali beach area, what is Moose's like in Lahaina? Any other suggestions?
In terms of ceremony start time at Olowalu, what time do you all suggest we start the wedding to maximize our time there! We will be married next Feb!
Thanks in advance for all your replies!
Oh Ps, we are looking for a free wedding website. I see there's one on the Knot, is it any good or anyone have any other suggestions?
    xx

I have never been to Moose's...actually i've never gone to a bar/night club on Maui as i am usually up very early to do activities.  From the research i did and speaking to my coordinator Moose's is really the only place open late that has a dance floor. If my bridesmaids go there after our wedding then i can give you some feedback in October.  This is why we are doing the after party on Friday when we will all  be fresh.  If we wanted to go to Timba's on our wedding night we wound have had to do a private party and pay a rental fee..basically the same price as Olowalu...no thx.  I was also thinking about Three's but since everyone will be staying on the west side...my BMs are all in Lahaina...Moose's is the most convenient for them.

Re: ceremony time....we are starting at 4:30 to maximize our time although my WC recommended to start no earlier than 5:00 as it will be hot hot but in February you may be able to get away with a 3:30 pm start time...your WC can definitely guide you on this.

I am using wedding window which i love but there is a fee for it.  HTH! J. :-)

We rented out Timba for after the reception from 10-1am for our wedding that just passed.  It was a beautiful location and Quinn was very helpful however, it can be pricey.  In addition, most of our guests were tired by 11:30pm and left.  We had paid for alcohol and the venue and dj till 1am so we lost out on quite a bit of money.  With waking up so early in Maui (the sun rises so early) you really are tired by 10pm!  However, we really did like Timba!  Good lucK!
