9 Days To Go!

Ok...we have 9 days left until the wedding! I know RecoveringActor is on the same day too. You ladies have been so helpful eventhough I've been mostly in the background. However, you have never failed me...

One last request - help me think here - what are we forgetting to do?  Any last minute advice from those who are already on the "other side"?  What are those last minute details that I should be thinking about?

So exciting and anxious. What a crazy, fun ride it's been! Thanks for your help!

    Congrats on 9 days! I'm at 10 :).

I'm currently working on programs, out of town bags, placecards, and getting everything in one spot to bring to the venue next week.

I'm also getting a ton of timing questions from people, so last night I made a short day-of itinerary for everyone in the wedding party - where they need to be and when and for what. It's not very long, but I'm hoping it will keep people from asking me the same questions over and over.

Thanks Bean - sounds like we're at the exact same point in planning!  We decided not to do programs, thus saving us some money and sanity! :) Plus we're not having a church wedding and we have a very small wedding party - people will figure it out!

I'm at 10 days today too! I just put together my day-of emergency kit. I got this list off of the July board so you may have seen it already but I thought it was so useful and thorough.

    1. Stain removing aids. Tide wipes, Clorox bleach pen and/or club soda.
    2. Bobby pins (in black, medium brown and light brown) and hair clips.
    3. Assorted safety pins and straight pins (for corsages and dress emergencies)
    4. A button-down shirt/smock. You will need to change after you get your hair and makeup done, and it is far less challenging than pulling a shirt over your head without messing up your hair or smearing your makeup. The smock will come in handy if you need to do any heavy touch-ups while you are wearing your dress (especially if you like loose powder or mineral makeup).
    5. Clear nail polish (good for both stocking runs and split nails).
    6. Krazy Glue (in case a shoe heel breaks or centerpiece breaks).
    7. Bottled water and your favorite light snacks. I like walnuts mixed with dried fruit. 8. Colorful umbrellas. They can turn a rainy tragedy into a beautiful photo opportunity.
    9. Sewing kit (with clear thread, white thread, black thread and thread to match the maids’ outfits. Also include hooks, buttons and scissors.) You never know when a seam or clasp will break.
    10. Spare makeup. Especially powder, eye makeup (waterproof) and lip gloss. If you're crying, sweating, kissing and eating, these will all rub off.
    11. Wrinkle release and static cling spray. Always test on a small part of fabric before you spray the whole thing!
    12. List of vendors, bridal party members and their phone numbers. Don't rely solely on your cell phone directory – your phone can die.
    13. Spare cell phone charger. (P.S. Don't forget your phone.)
    14. White or silver ballet flats. Your heels might hurt by the end of the night and you'll want to keep dancing!
    15. Your wedding day timeline.
    16. Cash (for anything that comes up) and a roll of quarters (for parking meters or vending machines).
    17. A few spare pairs of men's black socks. Men sometimes forget these things. 18. Makeup sponges. Many makeup issues can be fixed simply by blending. Blending can make the difference between a natural and artificial look. Blending sponges are also good for getting rid of deodorant marks.
    19. Tissues and handkerchiefs. It's a wedding. Trust me.
    20. Lint roller.
    21. Clear earring backs. 2
    22. Medicines: Include pain reliever/migraine medicine, antacids, allergy medications and any prescriptions you need to take. Advil, Pepto-bismol, Imodium
    23. Hand sanitizer. (You'll be shaking a lot of hands).
    24. Mints and gum.
    25. Makeup remover and nail polish remover.
    26. Tools like tweezers, cotton swabs, combs and brushes.
    27. Products like hairspray, lotion, and on-the-spot zit treatment.
    28. Dr. Scholl’s inserts for her. If heels make your feet hurt, the massaging gel inserts are very soothing.
    29. Toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash and floss.
    30. Manicure kit.
    31. Soothing music.
    32. Redness-reducing eye drops
    33. Double-sided fashion tape.
    34. First aid kit.

Rich--I feel you.  I keep thinking that I'm forgetting something.

This is what I have to do so far:

--Finish writing, printing, and putting together all of my programs

--Finish putting together my table numbers

--Write all of my escort cards (which Paprika so awesomely helped me with!)

--Write out my shot list for the photographer

--Take off of the things that I'm making to the reception venue

--Buy vases for the BMs flowers

--Wrap attendants gifts & write thank you notes to them

--Buy a crapton of wine for the rehearsal dinner

I haven't decided if I'm doing OOT bags.  I am not doing bathroom baskets.  I wanted to, but I feel like nothing is going to get used.  I think that's all I have to do.  At least we finally got our marriage license!!
Paprika: I like it when you burp in my ear. It really turns me on.

Crap. Forgot about table numbers/names. I'm having someone else design/print our escort cards, but she is taking forever. I haven't gotten a proof yet, though she claims it's coming. I'm envisioning a last minute project by me when she fails to deliver.

My mom sent me pictures of dresses she tried on today. She didn't like any of them very much - sooo, my mom STILL doesn't have a dress for the wedding.

We just got our marriage license this morning. We're slackers.

I was going to make bathroom baskets too but changed my mind. It's just not worth the trouble at this point. I asked FMIL to make the OOT bags and it's really nice of her to help but she is driving me crazy with questions over every little thing.

We're also having someone else design our table signs and escort cards and then we'll print them ourselves. I wish he'd get them to me already! I hardly have any time next week to do stuff.
