Has anyone looked/got married at anthonys ocean view?

We spent all day on Saturday going from meeting to meeting looking at venues and still havent found anything that we really like. So far I have looked at
Woodwinds
The westport inn (which was actually nice but we kind of want to be on the water)
Amerantes - the price was right but eh
Mystic river yacht club
Mystic marriott - the girl was a B!tch!
and the Brandford house - which was beautiful and FI was obessed with all the wood work but they don't have any dates open this summer.

So i was thinking about Anthonys. I should have made a appointment there this weekend but I was thinking. I have been to a wedding there (on a thursday) and as they were saying there vows 30 ft down the beach a couple was just finishing up there vows. It seemed werid to be.. like a asembly line of weddings lol. But maybe things were running late or something.
Anyway! I would love to hear some feed back before I drive down there. Also if anyone has there e-mail address? I keep clicking there email link and nothing happeneds!

  • My cousin got married there on the beach.  It was great that people could be on the beach or on the patio overlooking the beach.  My biggest complaint with them was that during the ceremony, one of the houses on the beach was having a party so their music was overpowering the ceremony.  Unfortunately, that's not something that Anthony's has any control over.
  • Another suggestion I have too would be Rocky Neck Pavilion in Niantic.  Another cousin got married there and it was absolutely gorgeous.  If you want to do that, I suggest a night time ceremony because people will be all over the campground and beach area.

<div>Can you get married on the actually beach? Like the sand between your toes thing? And also this is probably a stupid question but isnt there a mansion there too? Is that the same as the pavillion?</div>
  • The pavilion is the mansion looking thing.  I don't think you can get married on the beach.  They set it up so there was a little "aisle" for us to walk down and guests could be on either side of the aisle or up on the 2nd floor terrace looking down.  If you have access to Jerome Braga's personal page (Studio1923) he's got an album named Amanda and Pete.  In my opinion it was perfect.
  • I'm getting married at Anthony's this October. I am really excited about it. Depending on how many people RSVP, we will be having our wedding either in the garden with the little waterfall thing on the patio, or right on the beach. I don't believe it's very common to have another ceremony at the same time. They actually assured me that they stagger the ceremonies quite far apart so there is no chance of this. However, they also mentioned that people often start late for various reasons, so maybe when you went to a wedding there, the other couple started REALLY, REALLY late?

I met with Brian at Anthony's and he immediately made me want to have my wedding there. I was just really impressed by his professionalism and enthusiasm.

So basically, I'd say give it a look! :)

  • If you are interested, go on Sunday this weekend 1/29. They are having a bridal show. You can try their food and see the place at the same time. It is free.

I live across the street. I know people rave about it and love it. The best part is outside, so I would pick a date that can include cocktail hour out there.
