Candy Buffet???

Has anyone done a candy buffet at their wedding? If so, how did you do it? How much did it cost? Details please! I was thinking of doing a candy buffett as a favor. :)

I did a candy/dessert table for a friends baby shower.  The table consisted of a cake for 70 (I made the cake so that helped a lot to keep the cost down), decorated sugar cookies, mini cupcakes, rice crispy treats, chocolate malt balls, jelly bellies and salt water taffy.  I also made a backdrop for the table and rented a table linen.  I had to purchase the glass containers for the candy and several serving platters for the rest of the desserts.  I also bought little bags for people to put the candy in and little stickers with the shower date to close the bags with.

Total for table was about $450.  Had I bought the cake from a bakery the total would have been about $675

We did a candy buffet for my best friend's bridal shower.  I just used old vases that I had around my house.  Then I bought brown paper bags with handels and decorated them in her colors and with prima flowers.  I placed a cellophane bag inside the bag so people could fill it up with candy.  It was a huge hit.  I bought most of the candy at dollar tree and some at walmart.  It is costly, but worth it.
