Affordable wedding. any ideas????????

I am looking to have a beautiful wedding but we are doing it on a small budget.  i have looked at so many venues and the cost are out of this world when you budget is 12000.  Does any one have any ideas that would be helpful.  I would love an outside wedding ceremony, tented reception or indoors.

Our budget is 10k. We've got a venue, dj, videographer, photographer, limos, church, invitations, and flowers done. We still have 3k left to spend...

it's definitely do-able. Look around on the budget board, the diy board & check random venues that you never would have thought of. Ours is at the North East River Yacht Club... They're an indoor venue, but the view is awesome. :)

Okay- my budget was/is even smaller. There is so much you can do for cheap it's not even funny. My wedding is in September and here's what I've found so far:

#1- Make it YOU. Do what YOU want.
#2- Make your own cake if you can- you'll save any where from $300-$500 EASY
#3- Vistaprint in your friend! Sign up with multiple email addressed. I did postcard Save-The-Dates and I got 100 of them for free- only had to pay $6.50 shipping. I also did post cards to save on $$. Got my invitations from there as well- 100 shipped with envelopes for $47 (They constantly have amazing deals!)
#4- RSVP cards...... We skipped the cost of those plus postage by using our free theknot.com wedding website and are having all of our guests RSVP there/here
#5- Tents are expensive!!!! I'm going through that right now. My solution? I bought canopies from Walmart- much cheaper and will do the job!
#6- Use your resources! My photographer is a friend who is really good, father-in-law works right next to a rental place, father-in-law is also the cousin of the catering company, and for everything else- I'm pretty damn crafty
#7- If you are using real flowers-use hearty ones- most (like hydrangenas) are too delicate and will die very shortly after your ceremony.
#8- Things like table linens and napkins are never remembered. I went to Costco and bought the Vanity Fair dinner napkins and table clothes and well as the "silver" plastic wear and the plastic- look-like-real-china plates. I want people to remember the food they ate and the great time they had- They won't be talking about my plates.

I'm in the same budget range, which seemed doable until we sat down to make the list of people we wanted there. One thing I'm looking at is community centers - not waterfront, but there are some beautiful ones in our area I hadn't thought of, including some historic buildings.

We'll also be doing online RSVP, and we're looking at local restaurants for the food, hoping they might be cheaper than the full-scale catering.

VistaPrint is a great suggestion - I'm totally on it. :)
