Any recommendations for photographers or djs?  So far I have bella pictures, jessica lauren photography and elite sound entertainment.

    I highly recommend Erin McGowan with Fifthavenuephotography.com in Toms River.  She shot our e-pics and they were amazing. She is going our June wedding. I love her work and her prices!!!

    No one recommends Bella here. A good independent photographer or small studio is generally the way to go - not a corporate operation where you won't know who your photographer is until a few weeks before the wedding.

    37 Butter Knives-thanks so much for letting me know...I will cancel my appointment with them..there is no way that I want to meet my photographer 3-4 weeks before my wedding...thanks for saving me time :)

    I love my photographers ....CMOSTR photography based out of NYC. 2 photographers -- unlimited shooting...they have a vintage photography style. Great pricing! My fiance and I clicked with them right away!

    They can help point you in the direction of some other vendors as well. They helped me with florist, music, entertainment, video...

    I also recommend Jason Rhee.  We just did our engagement photos with him last week and had a blast! The pics are up on his blog and we are so happy with them!

    We are using Elite Sound Entertainment and Jason Rhee. A friend of mine used Jessica Lauren Photography through Elite Sound, but I haven't seen her pictures.

    I actually recommend Abella Studios if you're on a tighter budget, especially if you want videography too. They charge less for photography and videography including albums and video than many independent photographers quote just to show up for the day and give you a CD of photos.

    If money is not object, go with an independent photographer.


    For DJ I suggest DJMC Entertainment out of Belleville. Mike and his team are great.

    I went with J Paul studios in East brunswick for photo.  I met with Jason Rhee and I loved him, but my fiance clicked with Jeff from J Paul and he gave us an AMAZING deal under 2k including album.  (PS his website stinks so don't judge him on that haha)

    I haven't booked a DJ yet but I always see good recs for Elite Sound AND elite entertainment

    Wow, you weren't kidding about J Paul's website stinking.  I wonder how much business he loses just on asthetics (or lack of) alone?  We're in the internet era and if a visual artist can't spend some time making a great first impression (in J Paul's case, his website), not sure about that...

    Another vote for Robert Wayne Photography.  I really like his photographic style as well as his approach to the business side of things.

    We're going with a band so I can't help on the DJ side.
