Hey ladies!
I know there are mixed thoughts about having a vendor review site, but I started putting one together not too long ago, handed it off to someone else who was already in the process of making one, it was given back to me, and now I've started it back up again from scratch.
Anyway, before I get too far along in the website making process, I'd like your thoughts and suggestions about it (formatting, what to include, what not to include, etc).
Basically, it's going to be a site similar to the old one that used to circulated on here that lists vendors who girls on here have used recently. If anyone who is clearly not a vendor would like to add a review to the site, they can do so by paging whoever is in charge of the site at that time. The review for each vendor will be added just below where the website for that vendor is listed.
I know one of the main issues with a site like this is that vendors are hot and cold at any given moment, so a vendor who's really hot right now on the board could fizzle out in a matter of months, but someone who's looking at the site may not realize that a particular vendor has already fizzled out or gone out of style or whatever happens to them, haha. To (hopefully) combat that issue I suggested on the homepage of the site that anyone who wants to post a review should include the date of their wedding to make it easier for people to determine how long ago the vendor was doing well (or even not so well).
Another complaint I often hear is that only positive reviews get posted on sites like this. Again, in order to combat the problem I think it would be fine to allow all reviews (good and bad) to be posted as long as the vendor was actually USED. In other words, if someone simply meets with a vendor and gets a bad taste in their mouth about him/her, they wouldn't be allowed to post a review about what an awful vendor it is... the reviewer would have to have booked the vendor and/or used the vendor in order to post a review.
Also, keep in mind that I'm trying to keep the format of the site as simple as possible so that whoever it gets handed off to in the future won't have to teach him/herself how to edit the site.
Here's the website so far (obviously, it's a work in progress and what little has been done to it was completed in less than an hour today):
