What time should you start getting ready?

Hi ladies!
Random question -
What time do brides typically start getting ready for the ceremony?

All I can think is how on a regular day it takes me 15 minutes to put some make up on and slap my hair into a ponytail....how long can this wedding stuff really take ;-)

We're having a 3:30 ceremony and we'll be getting ready on site.  Is noon good?  Too soon?  Too late?

Any other tips?

Thank you!

If you are getting hair and/or makeup done, I would ask the stylists how long they need. You will have to factor in the number of people getting each done, and don't forget it will probably take you at least 15 minutes just to get into your gown if it has buttons, etc.

If you are doing your own hair and makeup, do a full practice one day and time it. Then add 30 minutes to that so you don't have to rush!

To give you an example of how long it can take, I was at the salon at 9 am for my sister's 2 pm ceremony. But I was the first of 5 bridesmaids to get my hair done.
