I think I'm getting close to picking colors but HELP!

I'm not sure if the link will take you to the right slide but it's #4. I like these colors but it's too much purple/pink. I was thinking about doing various shades in those colors anyway so it's seems overkill to have them as two of the colors. I also figure with the wine color that I can use some gold (gold chairs) and white accents.

I really don't want to have my bridesmaids in purple/pink or a wine/gold color. I've heard of people using a different color for the bridesmaids. I thought maybe Canary would look nice and it would flow with the colors but I was thinking I'd like to do the maid of honor in a darker or lighter shade than the rest of the girls or maybe alternating colors? Like the dress in a color with a sash or ornament in another and then the other girls in the sash color with a sash in the maid of honor dress. But I'm having a maid of honor and a matron of honor and then I think 3 other girls so how would that work?

But then I was thinking maybe a powdery teal might be pretty. I don't like baby blue so it would definately have to be a heavier tone. I also like the whole peacock look/colors because it's close to my original vision which was jewel tones but I'm finding those to be too dark/kiddy looking. My wedding will be before dark and the ceremony starting around sunset so it's kind of mixed between day and night.

Anyway what do you guys think? Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • I guess I should tell you a little about my wedding too. It'll be in July at a ranch with a big white house and lavish gardens on a cliff overlooking the ocean. The ceremony will be held under some cherry blossom trees or in an ampitheatre type grassy area with a huge garden behind it and overlooking the ocean. The reception will be held in a pasture and the guests will walk through a small barn to get to the reception. I'm thinking vintage/victorian but somewhat classic. I'll be having victorian type furniture to make lounge spaces (like chaise lounges with the feet) and I'll have one of those makeup table/desk type things with the big mirror inside the barn for seating cards. Lots of diamonds/chandeliers/candles...
  • Look how nice the greens look with the flowers and all. What about some greens?

I like the purples, and the beige suit too. What about a green MOH, beige BMs with color sashes...

I'm not any kind of authority on this though. I'm just thinking out loud.

  • I had thought about green but it used to be my favorite color when I was little. It was all I wore, my room was green and I wanted to die my hair green. I pretty much wore myself out on it and I no longer really care for it... That's why I was thinking maybe a teal color might work. Maybe if I did something in a seafoam? But that's more light blue...
