I like evening weddings, my wedding will be in the evening.  They tend to be more expensive because you are paying for a dinner though.  Morning and noon are probably going to have cheaper meal options.  I want my wedding reception to include dancing and kind of a party atmosphere and I just would not feel that way if the wedding was in the morning or the afternoon.   I also do not want to get up at the crack of dawn to start the beautifying process so evening works better for that too.

My wedding will be on a Friday evening. I think evening weddings are very romantic and you can have a reception with a party atmosphere. And yes serving dinner at your reception will cost more than serving lunch at a 2:00 reception so keep that in mind. But it all depends on what you envision your day to be like, whatever that is go with it.

I prefer a night wedding. That's just my opinion, However I did attend a afternoon
wedding around 4:00 pm and it was really nice. I feel costs will be the one of the biggest differences. Many outside weddings can be nicely pulled off in the
    afternoon, weather permitting of course.

My wedding starts at 3 but it is on a Sunday so we figured most guests would need to leave by 10 or 11 which is perfect timing for me.

Our ceremony started at 4 and our cocktail hour started at 6. I'm not sure if that's considered 'evening'. But it gave us plenty of time to party at the reception and then have an after party.

We're doing evening! I have been to all times. The morning / noon weddings are good because especially if you are OOT then you don't feel like you are getting no sleep when you are about to leave the next morning. But it feels a bit wierd partying in the middle of the day....IJS

Our potential venue only allows us to be there 4 hours and we're doing wedding and reception in the same place.  So we decided to have an evening wedding and have it start at 6.  We already know we have to pay extra but we're going to work it out.

My wedding will start at 6pm on Friday evening.  I wanted an evening wedding because I enjoy the sunset and our ceremony will be outside. Also, this gives people time to get off of work and come party (the best way to start off Labor Day weekend)

The meal rate for my location didnt change based on time, it would have changed it I were to get married on Saturday(another reason why I chose a Friday nite)

My wedding starts at 3pm and ends at 9- 9:30.  When we booked the venue, my coordinator told me to keep in mind what time I usually go to bed b/c it will be a long day.  So I opted to end the reception about 9:30 and my mom is hosting an after- party at her home.

I prefer evening weddings but I'm having an afternoon wedding. It literally cut the price of our wedding in half. So if you don't mind waking up at the crack of dawn then it's a good option. We're having an after party at a club located in one of the local casinos later that night.

Evening all day.  The other 2 require the WP having to get up way too early.  I will not be sleep deprived on my wedding day.

Our wedding was at 6:30pm. Perfect for us!

Our wedding was in the evening.  I've been to afternoon weddings and it just feels like of weird to have drinks and dancing in the middle of the day.  Plus, our wedding was black tie and having an afternoon black tie event just doesn't fly.  We definitely wanted more of a party atmosphere.

I'm the lone ranger here but.... our wedding is a moning wedding .... on a Sunday. Our wedding is OOT for our guests and for religous reasons most weddings in our circle are on Sunday evenings. I opted for a Sunday brunch wedding because
    1) all of the vendors were at least half of the price 2) It gives us time for a glam shoot after 3) I intend to take a nap and have a real wedding night.

It's also my favorit meal ever which works for me!

@M1SSJ:  Sounds like a great day you have planned.  I love the glam shoot idea.

We had a 4pm ceremony time on Friday and our reception ended around 10pm.  Even with the 4pm ceremony time, we still had to begin makeup promptly at 11am to ensure that the 4 of us (I MOH, mom, grandma and me) were ready for first look pics at 2:30 p.m. Some of y'all have HUGE wedding parties so it is going to be an early day, no matter how you slice if you want everyone to be ready on time.

I prefer evening weddings, but mine is going to be at 10am...on a Tuesday. We originally intended to take a cruise, and planned around the time we'd be in port. However, the cruise line changed their itinerary and we didn't want to change the date/time. So, after the ceremony, we're having a lunch reception for our guests. We'll probably spend some time just walking around (we'll be in Key West) and then go relax. I'm not at all opposed to heading out with our friends for dinner/drinks as an afterparty.

It will suck to get up that early, but I'm also glad to have it done in the morning so we can relax and enjoy the time with people making the trip.
