Typical cost of flowers for an Indian wedding?

I was wondering if you could tell me what the average cost of flowers is for an Indian wedding.  Our ceremony is going to be help outside so I want a lot of flowers on the mandap, with flowers going down the aisle.  We also need about 25 centerpieces for the reception.  I feel like all this will be very costly and I was trying to get an estimate for our budget.  Also, do Indian brides generally have a bouquet?  I haven't decided whether I will walk down the aisle with my dad or come in a dholi.  Also, how much do bridesmaids bouquets usually cost?  It all adds up so quickly!  Thanks!

I will be having a bouquet, and most of our decor will be fairly heavy in florals. I will also be having 25 centrepieces. I am trying to re-use as much decor from the ceremony in the reception (aisle decor can be used on receiving and buffet tables, etc.). I am paying approx. $2500 for all florals - which I thought was fairly reasonable. I hope this helps.

I think it depends a lot on a few different factors:

    - your geographical location. some parts of the country are cheaper (even for flowers) than others

    - the type of flowers you pick. and whether they are in season.

    - for your center pieces, the high center pieces are a lot more expensive than the traditional low center pieces

If you want a bridal bouquet, the price of that depends again on the type of flower, etc. I decided to get one. At first I wanted a simple cream rose bouquet, but then I changed my mind (oops) and went in for a more elaborate one with roses and orchids and a few other things. My first quote was for $85. I am waiting on the quote for the more elaborate bouquet, which I know will be more since the types of flowers changed and are a little more expensive.

The bridesmaids bouquets will be less than your bouquet, and (sorry to be redundant) but depends on the type of flower, how large thr bouquet is, etc.

Hope this helps a little. I know it doesn't get to closer to costs, but maybe call a few places near you to get an idea of costs and whether they'd be willing to work with you on your budget.

I can't remember the exact price of our flowers but I think there were just under 400 dollars...we had:

1 bridal bouquet made of cala lilies
3 brides maids bouquet made of hydrangeas and greenery
30 boutonnieres (15 were white roses and 14 were red roses) with angel breath and greenery
2 rose jai malas (white and red with greenery)

    Hope that helps!

    Hey RSMehta

I came down the aisle with both my parents holding a bouquet.  I've seen some girls come in a doli and holding bouquet.  (the only problem was ...the flowers were hidden by the sides of doli or her lengha)

I also walked into the reception with my hubby holding my bouquet. I went with cala lilies as they were a very classy timeless look that went with both of my lengahs.

We paid about $600 for our flowers (about 1500+)... I didn't have a bouquet or bridesmaids and their bouquets but here was our breakdown in case anything might be missing:

    - 2 jai malas (carnations - red, pink, and white) - for the bride and groom
    - 8 smaller garlands (carnations as well in white) - this was for the bride's parents, groom's parents, and priests (4)
    - 50 carnation strings for the mandap
    - broken up carnations for the guests to throw on the bride and groom for blessings
    - calla lillies and gerbera daisies for centerpieces at the reception

    Hope that helps!
