Online RSVP sites?

I'm looking into how to save on invitation costs (and using paper), and ran across some online RSVP sites like rsvpmenow.com.

Are places like this tacky? All our guests have access to a computer and internet, and I'd include an invitation insert with the website and instructions.

What says the ettiquette board?

    My grandma doesn't have a computer.  I know she's coming, but her RSVP wouldn't be on that site because even if she did have a computer, I'm not sure she would  know what to do to get there. 

    And technology screws all the time.  Just do something like a postcard to mail back if you're concerned about costs.

    I think it's a better idea to have paper RSVPs. The computer can be finicky, and even if all your guests have access to computers, they may not be as tech savvy as you think. Besides, getting RSVPs in the mail is so much fun!

    Good to hear what you all think. It's true, technology isn't always the most reliable lol.
    I'll plan on sticking with traditional rsvp's then.
    I figured I'd ask, because I've been lurking here for a while and hadn't seen this question come up before, but I'm a newb, so maybe I missed it :D

    So follow up- is it okay to do RSVP postcards like first poster suggested, or should I stick with SASE's?

    That probably depends on the formality of your wedding. If it's black-tie, you might want to go with SASEs. But less formal, you'd be fine with postcards. Just make sure they follow the guidelines set by the post office. Good luck!

    I think E-invites are a thumbs down, but E-RSVPs (via your wedding website) or phone RSVPs are fine if you are having a small/casual/informal wedding.

    I'm for online RSVP if you know everyone can do it. Personally, that's my plan.  It's green and it saves me the cost of postage. Everyone I know can do it too, including my 86 year old grandfather. He's been online for over a decade.
