Another tip question: vendors you don't see?

Our cake is being dropped off at the reception location during our ceremony(30 minutes away). Do I have to give them a tip? If so, how do I get it to them? It is a large bakery business, so I assume the person dropping off is just a driver, not the person who made the cake.

Re: Another tip question: vendors you don't see?

  • Do you know who is making the cake? I'd mail a formal thank-you card with a check.

  • I left tips with the wedding planner at the venue for the cake delivery person, flower delivery person and favor delivery person.  She distributed the tips to each delivery person for us.
  • If you knew of your specific baker at a bakery, then I wouldn't see a problem with tipping that baker, which is why I asked. Our baker is self-employed and was not tipped. Hope that clarifies!
