Makeup Questions

Okay I'll be the first to admit that for some reason I am overly obsessing about booking a makeup artist...not worrying about hair but makeup I am obsessed! lol  I am not getting married until next July (I know I have A LOT of time!) and for some reason finding a really good makeup artist is such a high priority on my list.  I figure if I book this early I should be able to get my first choice.  I know it sounds crazy but I think it would just put my mind to ease!  I just have a few questions because maybe hearing your responses will make me realize I shouldn't be obesessing about this!

How far before your wedding did you go for your first makeup trial?
How far in advance did you actually book your makeup artist?
Any recs for a makeup artist that travels?  (Gina Brozon is not an option she will be in Portugal)

    I didn't book mine until 2 weeks ago & I'm getting married August 8th. I was originally going to use my normal stylist but the salon was being really crappy & not returning my calls so I went to another place on a whim. I was very happy with the results, but I wish I did it a little further out. I'd do it a couple months out or at least wait until your dress comes in so you can do a hair+makeup trial on the same day as a fitting.

    Makeup was important for me too. I had my first (and only) makeup trial about 5 months before the wedding and booked on the spot. I highly recommend Lauren Iavarone of Expert Makeup Artistry- http://www.expertmakeupartistry.com/home.php

    TinyDancer. I didnt realize that we are date twins!

    Make up was important to me too, but I went local to someone who has done my make up before.. sorry i could be more help

    I booked mine about 6 month out (Michelle Lo Conte) and did my trial about a month out. She was simply awesome, my hair held all night (which I couldn't believe because I have very fine hair -- albeit a lot of it) and my make went through the night. I did the airbrush and was very very pleased with how well it held up with the heat and humidity

    I'm using Michelle Lo Conte also (airbrush) and did my trial for both about 6 months out. I did it so early to give myself time to find someone else if I hated it. I was very happy with my trial.

    I am getting married next July as well and I already booked my make up artist.  I am Using Marti from Mac.  She is based up in the Wayne area.  I have no had my trials yet, but she came highly recommended from a colleague and I saw the pictures from her wedding.. gorgeous!

    does gina do airbrush or traditional make up only?

    im getting married in january and i am totally stressed with hair and make up!

    I'm getting married in April and I booked Michelle Lo Conte for hair and possibly makeup, I haven't had my trial yet. But my wedding planner, also recommended Adhari from Gloss and Shadow. http://www.glossandshadow.com/homepage.htm

    So I'll probably try both and see who I like better. I'm not too picky with makeup, but my mother is....so she'll be the deal breaker!

    I booked Jeanine Mangan far in advance. I knew I wanted to use her and she books up so fast so I wanted to secure my date.
