I have been looking for someone to do my and my bridesmaids makeup the day of the wedding.  I found Ciel Cosmetics online, and I really liked the "after" pictures on her blog.  I also like that she's not too expensive and will travel to us.  Do any of you have any experience with her?  Just want some input on what she's like.

Also, kind of related, but I'm really concerned that my makeup won't stay put all day.  I saw in another post (not sure if it was in the Pittsburgh section or not), something about something you can spray on to keep your makeup stay put?  Does anyone have any recommendations for what to use?

    Claire is recommended a lot on this board. A lot of girls have used her and liked her.

    Any MUA worth their money will make sure your make-up stays. I used Jessica Tyler and had the same concerns as you, she promised me that it would stay and it did.

    I use a spray by Urban Decay called All-Nighter.  It's like $30 for a big bottle at any store that sells Urban Decay and although I'm positive your MUA would have a setting spray, it's awesome for just you to have!  No melting makeup!

    I'm using Clare for my wedding and I just had my trial.  She is really nice and did an awesome job during my trial.  My trial makeup really did last all day long. I will be sure to post my vendor reviews after my wedding

    I used clare for my wedding in April.  Simply fantastic, I really loved my makeup.  it stayed put all day/night even through taking pictures in the rain!

    Ditto! I'm using Clare for my August wedding and have a trial next weekend. I thought her prices are very reasonable, especially considering she is traveling to my house and I'm the only one getting airbrush.

    I used Clare for my June 9th wedding and she was fantastic!  She does use a setting spray and I had no issues with my makeup even though it was a VERY warm and humid day.  She can also get you a great discount on the MAC lipstick she uses, so be sure to take advantage of that (that is, if you tend to eat lipstick off just by talking like I do :-).  I looked like myself only a MILLION times better.  She is worth every penny!  Best of luck on your Big Day :-)

    I emailed Claire, and I never heard back. Is this common? I wanted to use her and was so disappointed.

    TomCat ... I emailed her as well but got an autoreply that she was on vacation until July 15th. I am going to give her the benefit of the doubt and say she is probably just catching up after a week or so away :)

    That was my only problem with her...spotty communication.  However, it all worked out in the end and she did a fantastic job.  I guess it's up to your schedule on how long you can wait for a reply.  However, if she does get back to you to confirm she can take you for your date, then rest assured that she will be wonderful.
