Wedding Ceremony & Reception Music Discussions

Do these songs go together?

I have been sitting here mulling over which songs I want to have played at the ceremony, and i've been having trouble with the processional music. I like Pachelbel's Canon in D, but I haven't been to a single wedding in my lifetime that DIDN'T have that as the wedding party's march. I'm also pretty much going ick at the bridal chorus (here comes the bride), I dunno why but i've never really cared much for the song. So I was thinking about having the wedding party come in on Bach's Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring (here's a youtube video of someone playing it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7lq9cKMphw) and then march in myself on Beethoven's Ode to Joy (youtube vid isn't great but you get the idea: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPT3D0GytM0). But those two songs sound like such radically different styles to me, i'm worried they don't sound good. What do you all think?

I would stay away from Ode to Joy. It is a very difficult song to walk in to. Canon in D is very common, but an awesome song for both the bridal party and bride to walk in to. There is a part in the middle where it changes, which is the point at which the bride begins her procession. Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring is probably more common than Canon in D, actually. I know a lot about wedding music, as my mom has played for weddings her whole life :)

Do you have any suggestions then for what I could walk in on then? In the area i'm in, Canon in D is used waaaaay more often than Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, but it's something that my church would be willing to play, and it's JUST common and traditional enough that the conservative and traditional-minded family members we both have wouldn't think it was out of place or weird in a traditional wedding. :)

Are you having strings or organ/piano?

Canon in D is definitely the most common processional around here.  I'm doing Jesu Joy since I've always pictured myself walking down to it and it's traditional without being overdone (in my circle at least).

A few other options that I really like (Air on G would be my second choice!):
Bach - Air on G String
    Frank - Panis Angelicus
    Purcell - Trumpet Tune

ETA: You don't need two different songs if you don't want - JJOMD is a long song and should be plenty of time for everyone to walk down.  We are using it for bridal party, flower girls, and me.  I will come in at a part where a new enthusiastic dramatic section begins.
