How much time?

I have to finalize times with my venue this week and the amount of time I need the bridal ready room for is one of the things they need to know.  I have Myself, 5 BM, MOB, MOG; all getting hair and makeup done.

Obviously for a bride a wedding is no roll out of bed and out the door in 15 minute event.  So how much time are you allowing the day of to get yourself and your party ready for the big event?

I had a 3:30 ceremony, and we started getting ready at 10, but we took our time, and went to a salon for hair.  I did my own makeup while the rest of the girls had their hair done, then we went to lunch all done up, and casually got dressed...  We got dressed at my hotel room for that night, so I didn't have to worry about being anyplace at any certain time.
With over a year to go (according to your ticker), I'd overestimate how long you think you'd need, and as it gets much closer - like a couple of months away - then get more specific at that point.

We have a 4:30 ceremony and are starting at 10 with a hair appointment at the salon. There are 7 people total getting their hair done. The plan is to leave there at 1:30, be back to the venue at 2 and do makeup, then get dressed (no pictures beforehand). Since we have to travel a half hour to and from the salon, I wnated to make sure we got an early start, since there might be traffic, hair might take longer than expected, etc. Plus I'm a type A person and don't want to be late!

I'll let you know after Saturday if we had enough time for everything :)

I have a 3 oclock ceremony. We are starting at 11, planning to leave at 2:30. That gives us 3 1/2 hours. It's me, 5 bms and 2 make ups.

Now that I think about it.. is this enough time? I don't want to go too early because I don't want my hair/make up to come out.

kkchisholm.. i think it will depend on how big the salon is that your all getting your hair done at. You should call and ask them what time they think you'll be done, then i would plan on 30-40 minutes more than that estimate just in case.

I work at a spa/salon so I know that when a wedding party comes in they will have 3-4 people curling hair and someone else doing makeup if there are a lot in the party. But my advice to everyone is to ask the salon how long it will take:-)
