FI being unrealistic

Before we started wedding planning, FI and I came up with a budget that we both agreed on and everything was good.  Now that I've started looking at vendors (who are within our budget by the way), I tell FI how much they charge and he starts freaking out.  I have to remind him of our budget and tell him that's what it's for.  I don't know what he thought we would be spending this money on lol.  It's not like I'm over budget, I actually have us under budget at the moment.  Is anybody else's FI being unrealistic about the costs of the wedding?

    mine is sooooo uninvolved....but i really wish he was.... i'm getting  concern because i feel like i'm going to be the one managing the money in our marriage and i really want it to be a joint thing.  be happy that you all are working as a team.

    They are all the same! They want to invite the world but then when you tell them how much it costs...they flip! *sigh* men...gotta love 'em!

    OMG. Thank you Lawd. My FI and I actually got into an "intense moment of fellowship" this morning about the fact that he wants his mom to do the flowers, in order to save money. Silk flowers at that...

    Here are the problems with that suggestion:
    1. She is not a professional florist.
    2. She has no sense of style, from her clothes to her home.
    3. She is country. Country is not just where one lives but its a mindset; she's cheap and outdated in EVERY WAY!!
    4. She threw me a bridal shower and it was the full definition of bootleg, if she can't do a shower then I can't trust her to do a wedding.
    5. She's the freaking mother of the groom, aren't you supposed to be sitting down and enjoying the wedding (not working)?

    Anyway, I think he's just paranoid because of money and time (4 months). I'm glad he's so involved, but he needs to pump the damn brakes. If she just has to be involved then she need to do the flowers for the rehearsal dinner and move on with life.
