Wedding/Reception locations in MB, NMD, Garden City..etc

I'm looking for a venue/hotel to have both the wedding and the reception at for Sept. 2011.  Our families are renting 2 houses in Garden City, but any location around the MB area will work.  Does anyone have any experience or reccomend a place.  I really want both either on or near the beach,  Thanks!

How big will the wedding be?  How much are you looking to spend?  I had a friend have a wedding at Atalaya in Huntington Beach State Park, and it was beautiful.  And they will let you have alcohol for the wedding too.  Normally State Park's won't let you.

Christa Harder is out of Murrells Inlet and was the photographer in my wedding.  I LOVE HER.  You can't go wrong.  www.christaharder.com

whatever you do ...DO NOT go to Barefoot Resort.. I had my wedding booked since January & just found out they are in foreclosure so we have to find a new place! Good thing I still have 7 months to go, but now im finding a lot of places dont have my date. You could try dockside or inlet affairs... they are both nice places. Dockside a restaurant in Murrells Inlet & Inlet Affairs is across the street from Drunken Jacks in Murrells Inlet.

Inlet Affairs is great!  It's in Murrells Inlet and their staff is wonderful!  Plus, it's right across from the Murrells Inlet Marshwalk, which is great for your guests to enjoy before/after the reception!

Christa Harder Photography is also wonderful!  ChristaHarderPhotography@gmail.com (www.christaharder.com)

I went to MB last weekend to scope out a wedding venue for myself and my FI.  Here are some places that I visited and were recommended to me by locals.  You may want to check them out:
Sea Watch Resort -  I had read about it on these blogs.  We stayed at this resort.  It was nice...great for a vacation but not what we were looking for.  Mary Ann Burke over group sales is great.
Avista Resort - This is in North Myrtle.  It was nice but not really what we wanted either.
Island Vista Resort - This is a beautiful resort however it is in the city limits of Myrtle Beach so you can't get married on the beach.   The grassy area faces the ocean and it is beautiful.  This is the one that we selected.
Surf, Golf, and Beach Club - This was recommended by a local.  I didn't visit it but saw it in an issue of Grand Strand Bride.
Baywatch - This was also recommended by a local.

Hopefully that will helpful.  Check out grandstrandbride.com for vendor/resort information.

    Good Luck!

Look into the Holiday Inn Surfside!! It is right in the Garden City area and is very nice.. I agree about Dockside and Inlet Affairs both are very nice.. I had my Rehursal dinner at Dockside and it was wonderful.  I would look into the Gulfstream Cafe it is right across the street from the beach and it super nice and the food is really good..
