Venue Help?

I have been looking over the past month for some venue ideas.
We are looking to hold a destination wedding the New Orleans area for less than 60 people.  I would like to try and find a place we can do both the ceremony and reception with help from an onsite coordinator.  Every hotel I look at seems to require very high minimums.
Any suggestions??

I am having my ceremony and reception at the Wax Museum. I am planning for about 50 people and the only other place that would be reasonable for a small wedding was Galvez. I also looked into Palace Cafe and the Crescent City Brewhouse but we would not be able to have our own DJ as the rooms weren't completely private.
  • You might want to consider the House of Blues.  They have a really cool smaller room upstairs and you can get married in their courtyard.  They do have a rental fee, but the menus are pretty reasonably priced.
  • Donald Link also has a private event space: http://www.calcasieurooms.com/
  • Cafe Amelie charges for rentals of tables, linens, etc on top of food charges and the quote they gave me was approx 12k for ceremony and reception, which was out of my budget. Wax Museum and Galvez are both in the 6k to 7k range. The people I talked to at all three were wonderful to talk to though. I contacted HOB twice with no response. I should clarify that Palace Cafe would allow music for background but no dancing.
  • I can't remember what Galvez used to be, but if you see older wedding photos on a photographers website with a black and white checked floor, that's now Galvez. It looks like a beautiful venue.
  • Thank you! I have looked at Galvez it's beautiful. I will have to take a look at the wax museum. Thanks again
  • I also used weddings by lulu and she is truly amazing. You should really consider hiring her, especially since you are an OOT bride. She could really help you with your decisions and foot work since you can't be here.
  • CGT Plantation! I'm an OOT bride and have not needed a planner. Jill the owner of the plantation is amazing!
  • try bourbon house. the same people who own palace cafe own it and they have a separate room and allow for dancing
