Wedding after baby

I had my baby last May. I'm getting married in a few months. I'm trying to lose about 1015lbs. More importantly I'm trying to lose the mommy pouch and tone up. I'm a stay at home mom of an incredibly active 8 month old. I already walk a mile every day. I have an app on my phone and it gives me a random workout to do. I try to do it every other day after my son goes to bed. Anyone have any workouts that can help with this mommy pouch? It is the only part that just destroys my confidence.

    Hi!

Generallly you need a combination of exercise and proper diet to lose fat. Ab excercises alone will not get rid of the mommy pouch. There are lots of exercises and workouts that can be done at home so just pick something you enjoy doing, but make sure you're eating healthy and at a caloric deficit as well. Reducing stress is also key to losing weight - if you're not sleeping well and are stressing over being a new mom, etc., that could hold you back.

    Congratulations!

don't forget that it takes over a year for the body to return to its pre-pregnancy state - that includes things like your ribcage shrinking back into place and the muscles of your stomach contracting again.

As PPs have said, you can't spot reduce, and you shouldn't 'diet' if you're nursing. Work on eating healthy, whole foods and avoid processed ones where possible. Abs are made in the kitchen!

It sounds like you're being active, keep it up, and find ways to incorporate the baby. My best baby purchase ever was a backpack carrier. My kids went walking, hiking and even cross country skiing with me, and when they got too big for it, I towed them behind me in a sled!

You want this to be a lifestlye, not only to lose the pooch, but so that your son grows up living an active, healthy lifestyle.

    Good luck!

Thanks everyone! It is definitely more the mommy pouch than the number on the scale. I use my fitness pal to keep track of what I eat. I'll look into those Jillian Michaels dvds. Its the last part that makes me uncomfortable with myself. I love my new curves otherwise.
