Just starting out! :)

Hey ladies! This is my first post, so bare with me! :)

I've just started looking into venues, and I'm not really sure what I want yet! We are on a lower budget (15,000??) but it is flexible, I don't want to cheap out on anything. We are thinking anywhere from 200-300 guests. Also concidering a November wedding, or a friday wedding to cut costs without cutting quality :)

Somewhere around the Andover/Elk River area would be cool since that is where we are from, but we are also looking into the cities.

Only place I am looking at seriously is Profile Event Center.. I like it, but I'm definately not set on it. We are touring on Saturday.

Let me know any suggestions on venues, budgeting, or anything you think I should know!!

Thanks,
Kristin

Yay Kristin! Welcome to the boards, I am so happy for you and Alan!! :)

I don't know if you would consider looking into this or not but we are keeping our budget around 15,000 and having at Courtyards of Andover. We are inviting around 300 people and so far it has been very do able. Just a little budgeting here and there and it is working out just fine. :) Feel free to facebook message me any time if you have questions. I know you have Sabrina as a great reference already!

You could check out Fountains of Ramsey....I loved the dancefloor size :) and outside is very pretty.  It just ended up being too far of a drive from our church...we went with Edinburgh in Brooklyn Park, its gorgeous!!  Majestic Oaks in Andover is SUPER gorgeous too - but that one is  a bit spendy

Welcome! I'm using the PEC in March 2013. The only negative review I've heard so far about the PEC is that the bride and groom invited too many people to fit in the space so it was crowded. Seriously, that's the only bad thing I've read while Google searching reviews and asking around here! Oh and a friend of mine decided against the PEC only because they didn't have her date open, otherwise she would have used it!

I posted in the other venues thread but there's a list of other venues I like that I didn't end up going with on my bio: http://jenniandross.weebly.com

Kate and I just had our reception at Northfork in Ramsey. I cannot say enough good things about the staff, location and food. It was amazing!! Def worth checking out.

I was also going to suggest Northfork in Ramsey. We went for a tour and LOVED everything about it other than hotels not being quite as close as we would have liked. There is only one room so you have the entire facility to yourselves. Also, they were very open to a lot of ideas and decoration ideas we had.

Our reception is at Majestic Oaks which is in Andover/Ham Lake. They have two rooms and I believe the smaller room (fireside) seats 250 comfortably (don't quote me, we are using the bigger room so I'm not positive). If I remember correctly the min is 5,000? but you can include your cake to meet that min.

Good luck and have fun with it!
