I keep getting emails saying I won money off. Not sure if it is a scam, I spoke with him and he did say that he drew about 75 brides out of 200 or so. He seems pricey, and extremely full of himself. I would consider meeting with him if he is willing to work with my budget. Has anyone used him or heard of him? Thanks!

I got the same emails, but I already booked my photographer so I just deleted the emails. But I would check on weddingwire.com or weddingchannel.com just to do some research on this guy.

He emailed me too, and i never have met with him. I already have a photographer- but his emails totally turned me off. Half the stuff was spelt wrong and his email said 50% off a $4000 package.

If he already seems pricey and full of himself, why would you bother? There are plenty of photographers out there- find one you like and connect with.

Yea, I think I am all set. I am going to give a guy a call who took pics at a friends wedding for about 900 dollars, that is more of my price range. This guy also wouldn't give me his price over the phone, he kept saying I had to see his work, blah, blah. I am all set.

He always runs those scams. He sent out that same promo after one of the bridal shows last year. Everyone got the email, me, my mom & all of the vendors that showed at the expo. (Other photographers, too!)

Don't do it. I met with him and FI cause i couldnt help it with the large $$ off emails . He's a hard sell. He has a very specific taste that was not shared by us. He does Italian albums if you are into those.

We said we had to leave and he keep trying to make us stay. I had an allergy attack and he still keep going The packages are very high I thought. You are suppose to click with your photographer. he was not in my comfortzone.

Yea, I am really glad that I posted this!!! He has my number, and is going on vacation for a few weeks. He said he would call me when he got back to set up an appointment. I am just going to tell him sorry but I found someone else while he was gone.

There’s a famous TV commercial that starts off with the statement “an educated consumer is our best customer” Normally, I don’t get up here or into news groups very often. However, after reading a few comments recently posted on the Knot I thought folks should know a little more about my back round and services before they come to any conclusions. First let me start off by stating that anyone who receives a email from us entitling them either to a $500.00, $1500.00 $2000.00 or $2500.00 discount is receiving a legitimate time sensitive discount that can be applied to our “Gold Package”. (also $500.00 is toward our Photo Booth) The email is NOT a scam but an incentive discount for couples to come on down to our studio and get an insight into what there wedding package should or should not include and is completely customizable. (that’s why we don’t post prices…it's called a “pleasant surprise”) Couples will have an opportunity to see exactly (documented) what six other local professional photographers have to offer in their packages. Folks can then compare quality as well as dollar value and make an educated decision as to what is the right package for them.

There is NO pressure and there is no obligation! …(of course we’ll give you a nice cold glass of champagne if you do decide to retain any of our services--ID required : -) Finally, I have for the past twenty seven years been photographing weddings. Every wedding I’ve been entrusted with is truly a labor of love. Other photographers have called me a “pros-pro” because of training, experience, knowledge and most importantly I care –and YES I am one of the very very best in New England (and as you may have noticed I do like to flaunt it : - ) .. It is a well known fact in the industry that 65-70% wedding photos taken by those inexperienced low priced “budget” wedding photographers results in terrible wedding photos and of course a very unhappy and sorry brides.

So if you care anything about your wedding photos you’ll want at the very least to spend for “that most important day” thirty minutes at my studio to become familiar with how I turn ordinary into extraordinary “creative works of art”, as well as become “an educated bride”..

GSugal here! .. Yes I do recall meeting with this bride.
I spend about hour and half showing a bride all that we have to offer Hard sell were NOT. My job is to show you everything you may wish to include or not include in your wedding package.. i.e. engagement shoot with documentary style live video interviews, DVD slide shows telling your story of the entire wedding day. .. also with free video . n/c albums, n/c prints.. I recall this bride was a bit oozy when she first arrived and i asked several times if she was o.k.. I also asked her if it was alright to continue. She said she was fine..I never tried to make her stay .. just not my style . Comfort zone for me also has to be there and it wasn't -- unlike other photographers I will turn down weddings if I think the bride is a problem.
GLad I was not selected but I do wish the best of luck to her.

Hi I just want to say how disappointed in these review about Gary Sugal photography. I just got married in Oct. (2012). I had Gary Sugal as my photographer. He was fantastic!!! He was very reasonable compared to many other photographers. We visited others first before booking with him. We found him at a bridal show. We knew nothing about him before. What people are saying about him being full of himself I think everyone got the wrong impression of him. He is so excited about doing your wedding that I think people take it the wrong way. I went with him because he is proud of his work. He loves doing it!!! AND he has a right to be proud of it. He did a great job and we found that other photographers did it to pay their bills. He does it because he truly takes pride in his work. He loves what he does. I just had to write because I was so upset with these reviews that really were not true. I would recommend him a thousand times over.
