Your opinions on Natural/Real Touch artificial flower bouquets?

I have bumped into some ads where brides  are selling their Natural/Real Touch (artificial) flower bouquets. They look so believable! I am trying to save as much $ as I can because as we all know, weddings are expensive. I am paying for them myself. :(

    I'm not going with real touch, but I am going with artificial. I purchased mine from a seller on Etsy (there's actually a photo in my signature).

    I didn't plan on going with fake, but I LOVE the work that this girl does, and as far as I am concerned, no one is really going to get *that* close to my flowers (i'll do a real bouquet for tossing, maybe).

    I have been wondering if I could get away with silk, too.  After reading the questions and responses here, I think I will.  Thanks everybody:)

    After looking at the prices for a real bouquet... and counting up the number of bridesmaids (4-5).... oy, I'm on the artificial flower train. Seriously contemplating that OR Costco-ing it up.

    I just got my real touch flowers in the mail today.  I am saving several hundred and I am guaranteed to have the flowers I want on my wedding day which wasn't going to happen with real flowers.  They look real if you pay for the quality flowers and there are some that look very fake, so you just have to make sure you research and know what you're paying for.  I sent one of BM a picture, she didn't know I ordered real touch and she asked me how I planned on keeping it alive for 5 months.  Granted that was just a picture, but they have surpassed my expectations.

    The bonus to silk is that you can sell them after the wedding and lessen the cost or you can keep them and use them as decor and a reminder of your wedding day (I plan to make a large arrangement for our dining room table with ours).

    Artificial bouquets create a beautiful keepsake for your wedding -- you can keep it forever. 

    They're also ideal if you want to plan ahead and get the bouquets out of the way before the wedding.  As a recent bride there was no last minute wilting or stress with a late floral delivery: one last thing to worry about.

    Artificial flowers have also come a long way in the last few decades.  Today's flowers look amazingly real and many feel real; your photographer will never know the difference!

    I have some real touch Callalillies in my bedroom for decorations and they look so unbelievably real.  I've had several people comment on my 'fresh' flowers.  The important part is that they are molded, they are thick and have the appropiate sheen and texture.  I'm not sure how real touch ones look when you get into a more detailed or petaled flower like a peony or rose.  There is always the option to mix a fake and real.

    I'm totally in love with real flowers for the aroma, but i also like the idea of having my boquet and putting it in a vase on display in the house for future years.

    I used DebbieCoFlowers and they were absolutely gorgeous!  We are having 2 weddings - one was on June 7th and the second is August 16th, so I wanted silk so that I could use them for both.  When I received them, I was shocked at how real they looked -- no one knew they were silk.  My mother tried to put her corsage in water when she got home!

    They were well worth the cost savings and I would absolutely recommend DebbieCo.  She did an excellent job and was great to work with.

    @LynelLeonard - This thread is over two years old. If you had a good experience, try writing a good review for the vendor here and/or on google. This is an international board, so not everyone is from your area.

    How are you having two weddings? If you got married on June 7th, whatever you're doing on August 16th isn't actually a wedding - it'd be a fake re-do. Please don't do this. It's horribly tacky and bad etiquette. 

    Also, it's not a good idea to use your real name when posting on a public forum - internet safety/privacy and all. It's very easy to find a wedding website in one easy google.
