Boudoir? TTD?

Are any of you ladies doing a boudoir shoot? Or a trash the dress? Or bridal portraits?

Our photographer only charges an extra $200 for an engagement shoot with all printing rights relseased, but we had ours done months ago by someone else. She said we could do any other sort of shoot instead. It's so cheap that I don't want to pass it up!

I thought about doing a boudoir session and putting together a little album for D for the wedding morning. But I would need to do it super soon, like within the next two weeks, in order to get the prints back and make the album online to get it printed. Idk how I feel about that. Lol. I thought about doing it a little later and giving it to him randomly as a surprise on like a bad day or long work week, as a non-wedding related gift....

I considered a TTD session, but I KNOW I can't do that to my dress. Lol. Something in the water would be cool maybe, but I'm just not all that drawn to it. Any other ideas here?

I also thought (and this might be my favorite) to go to the grade school where we first started dating and do some photos there. I would LOVE to do our first look there on the wedding day, but it's about half an hour from the venue so I doesn't seem very logical. We really wanted to do our e-pics there, but couldn't due to photographer preferences. Maybe we could do like a mini-shoot there after the wedding, to get some shots for the thank you cards? Or I guess we could do a second engagement shoot there within the next month or so.

Advice? Opinions? Decisions?

Re: Boudoir? TTD?

  • If I had a bit more guts, I'd do a boudoir shoot. I love the idea, I'm just not super comfortable with it.

I just had my bridal portraits done in place of an engagement shoot that was included in our package. Ours came with an engagement shoot too, but we had already had them done a long time ago because I wanted to use them on our STDs. So I elected for the bridal session and I'm so excited to see the end result. ahhh! editing needs to be instantaneous!

  • Boudoir?

TTD- NO WAY!!!  I hate that stuff..Tooo pretty to waste like that!

Did you hear that a bride actually drowned by jumping into a pool or lake...SCARY!
    God is Faithful!
  • I have thought about doing boudoir pictures, but don't really have the guts to do it. I sort of mentioned that type of thing to my fiance to kind of feel out if he would like it. If he was super into it, I probably would have done it, but he was like oh that is interesting. *whew!*

I think that your idea of going to your grade school is super cute! I think that would make for fantastic pictures! I see you on the swings and slides. I would do it after the wedding so if you wanted to you could be in your dress. Love it! I vote for this!

<div>I've thought about it but am too chicken to bring it up to my photog.  I might do it as a 1 year anniversary gift (If I'm in better shape LOL)</div>
  • I would do it in a minute!  The boudoir shoot, I mean.  I've decided that I don't want to spend the money now, so I plan on doing it for our 1 year anniversary.  I don't want to put it off too long, I'm not getting any younger!
  • I'm thinking about doing my boudoir photos myself. I'm not comfotable enough to do them with my photographer, but I am confident in my own room! I am using our extra session to do my bridal portraits.
