Hello, Knotties!
This is my first post here. I benefitted a lot from reading all your reviews here, and now that I'm married, it's my turn to share :-)
I just finished rating and reviewing all my vendors on the wedding channel website, but will do it here as well. I chose almost all my vendors by reading reviews here, so I will be absolutely honest about everything as well.
First, I want to share my favorite vendors.
#1 Kjira Robinson, opera singer.
She sang at our ceremony and it was absolutely amazing. her voice is so powerful and beautiful, everyone had goosebumps!! I walked down to the Ave Maria, it was overwhelmingly beautiful :-)
I met her by chance, she relocated to Columbus a while ago and is still starting with wedding singing. She's very affordable, so talented and a great person. I highly recommend her, her email is: kjirachristiana@gmail.com
#2 Moyoko Taguchi, calligrapher
Her work was outstanding and really made a difference. Her beautiful calligraphy added so much to our invitations and place cards. She is great and also very affordable. Her email: guchan9393@yahoo.co.jp
I also really liked the venue, The Boat House (former River Club), Regina was great to work with. Everyone liked the food and the service was excellent too.
Our photopraphers, Picture Perfect Portraits, were also amazing.
Limo service: A Supreme Limousine was great! Driver was so funny!
Makeup artist: Alison Feamster, excellent!!
Hair: Shannon Goode, excellent!!!
Now... the vendors I did NOT like.
Florist: Flowers on Springtree Lane
okay, I know this one will raise eyebrows, because they have great reviews here (and that's why I decided to meet and book them!).
I liked the centerpieces, they looked great, my bouquet looked nice too. The two problems I had with them were:
1. Cake flowers - they were supposed to be fully open roses, they sent regular roses (like you would buy at Kroger), charged me $20 for 4 roses.
2. Ceremony arrangements - supposed to be 2 "large puffs of baby's breath". what I got? two vases with something resembling what a 5-year-old could have assembled together. It looked AWFUL!! It was NOT large at all and it looked messy and terrible. It was so bad, that my husband's aunt felt bad and ran to the supermarket and bought several bunches of baby's breath and fixed it. it was embarrasing. My maid of honer called them right away and their response was: "That's what she ordered. That's what 40 dollars of baby's breath looks like". I mean... I told them I wanted large, round puffs of baby's breath, and they gave me the price. It wasn't the other way around. I was very disappointed with them.
And the worst vendor I had was...
Bess' Cakery.
I was so looking forward to seeing the cake... because she was so nice and the cake tasted so good when we had our tasting. I had chosen a cake and brought her the picture. I said that's what I wanted, exaclty same colors and everything. It was a very simple design, she was totally okay with it. The week before the wedding, I sent her the picture again, just in case. When we were announced at the reception and I saw the cake, I almost cried! It was NOTHING like the cake I ordered. But instead of describing it, I will just showe you a picture of what I wanted vs what I got. It speaks for itself. My colors were soft pink and champagne, supposed to be classy and elegant, not sure where the HOT PINK came from... it just looked tacky, not elegant at all. It was by far my BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT.
This is the cake I wanted:

This is what I got:
