  I got my BM dresses from JCrew. You can make appointements at the store in Georgetown for the girls to try them, and the wedding people there are really helpful.

  I live in Alexandria and I know there is a David's and an Alfred Angelo near by (Springfield, I think is the closest). I went home to look for dresses though, so I don't know much else!

  I'm likely going to get  all the bridesmaids' Bill Levkoff dresses from a bridal salon in Rockville (some girls will have to call in their measurements). If you narrow down designers you like from magazines/online, you can look up where they sell their dresses and go from there.
  
  As far as chains, other than those mentioned in PP,  I know that Nordstrom and Lord and Taylor have their own bridal lines as well. I'm not sure if they run in stores or not, but you could call and find out. The ones in Chevy Chase/Tenleytown area or Tysons Corner might.
